The Eolo does use CCPM so you either need a computer radio that has CCPM mixing built in or an electronic mixer that will produce the CCPM movements as output but take normal pitch and cyclic inputs (and could thus be controlled by a "simple" radio). I believe www.quickuk.co.uk have such a mixer available (from home page select "Quick UK", then "General Parts / radio system" - mixer is QUK023) but it's $55 so you might as well put that towards a new, high spec. radio.

I'm going to buy an Eolo and just went through exactly the same thing. I considered the RD6000 (must be "Super", not "Sport" cos the diff is that Super has CCPM but Sport doesn't - that's what you pay extra for).

But, in the end I bought a Hitec Eclipse 7 (in fact it arrived yesterday!! :-) because, for a similar price it seems to offer more than the RD6000. Apart from anything else it has that extra channel and I like the idea of seven, rather than four model memories and each can have a 4 char name rather than just 3.

Whatever you do, make sure that any radio you get has at least 5 point pitch and throttle curves - some radios only have 3 point curves and that'll be too limiting for setting up the heli.

BTW, CCPM is a system whereby there's three servos connected to the head that all move either to tilt it fore/aft, left/right or work together to move the entire thing up/down to adjust pitch. The servos can be spaced around the head in various configurations, either spaced 90, 120 or 180 degrees apart.

The Eolo needs a radio that'll do 120 degree CCPM and the Hitec Eclipse 7 offers this.

I have the rd6000 super. It does the job with 5 point curves and is develishly easy to program, even for a novice.

I have to agree with Dodgey 99, I also have a RD6000 Super and the programing is very easy to understand

Don't get an FF6 - in fact it was an FF6 that I just replaced with the Eclipse! The heli support in the FF6 is very limited. For example the curves are 3 point rather than 5 point and in my old FF6 there's no CCPM. You can't put readable names on models and in my old one there's only 3 model memories. The "entry level" heli radios really are the Eclipse or the RD6000 Super (there's also some good JR's but I'm never sure what facilities are offered by them - they hav a very confusing numbering/naming system!)

For my money the choice would be between 6000 and Eclipse and, in my humble opinion, the Eclipse has the edge. From what I've read of the manual so far, programming it looks very easy (it's VERY similar to the FF6 in fact when it comes to programming!)
