Was wondering if anybody knows how to put together flding wings with opeational flap? I have the Ziroli plans and was wondering if I can create a fold myself without disrupting flap peration?

Ive seen Earl Aunnes site and his Corsair is amazing. Love the temp-controlled cowl flaps. I was thinking I could do a low resistanc spring the controls th opn by airpressure or maybe Ill just a few extra bucks for the servo. Lot of space to work with, so yeah servo sounds nice!

Any help for the folding would be appreciated. TIA!

Cheers,
RORY_S

Rory,

Try Bob Holman plans - he uses folding wings on several of his models and sells the plans separately. I had enough trouble getting the flaps to work OK without folding the wings.

Rory,

On my website, under Tips and Articles, I have reprinted an article by Dave Platt on folding wings. it was from his Scale in Hand series.

As far as the flaps go, can you use separate servos on the inner and outer flaps so when the wing folds nothing mechanically joining the flaps has to disengage?

Just some thoughts. I agree, Earl's Corsair looks great. I have some pics in the 'Spotlight' section of his corsair.

Also forgot about the big Skyraider from Gene Barton with folding wings.

Check out link for his wing fold mechanism and prices.
