I will tell you not to get the stinger and suggest maybe a cvec or even an associated pipe for the price.

The CVEC has a moving piston. I have third hand information of unknown quality that the moving parts can get gummed up, preventing it from working properly and giving you something else to tune and clean.

As for other pipes, I have the original pipe on my RC10 GT, and see no need to replace it.

Talk about third hand info. My uncles brother cousin-in-law's baby sister said that by changing the pipe you won't gain THAT much power (he/she said approx. 5% gain) and about the same power gain can be achieved by either removing or modifying the baffle in the stock pipe. I've yet to do either one though. Still running stock pipe on mine.

Shadow......you have any trouble keeping that stinger on? I have seen pictures of it and just wonder if there is some sort of hanger or brace that holds it after it passes through the rear body posts, it looks as if the silicone coupler wouldn't hold it on very well by it's self.........I am just curious and would lik to try one if nothing more than to just keep the exhaust off the chassis...

First hand info, here goes....I took the baffle out of the stock pipe, I did notice a small increase in power. Then I tried the Traxxas tuned pipe , very disappointed in result, seemed to loose low end power, no matter how I tuned it, stock pipe w/o baffle was better. I now have the CVCC pipe with the tuneable valve inside, I like this pipe, gave me good low end, and more top end, quiet too. I was going to try the Stinger, but I have lowered my body down so the engine head sticks thru the body, and the stinger pipe has to go under the body posts...no room now.....Coop

First, a tuned pipe is stated as giving you 3 to 5 mph gain....

Several quality pipes are available. The best seller at my shop seems to be the CVEC followed by the Dynamite exhaust system and then closely by the Stinger. The stinger is the loudest of the bunch. The dynamite has no tie wraps on a silicone coupler but instead has three springs holding it together (works awesome). We have had no major problems with the CVEC gumming up and that is the exhaust pipe that is on the shop T-Maxx.

Thanks guys!!

i personally AM NOT a big fan of the stinger pipe.. it sounds really funny.. i would go with a dynamite stick... it's one piece and its a nidrange pipe so it cover all the range... and its exactly like the stock pipe exept that its not plastic and its one piece!!
