I did kill the ignition before it hit the ground, so the engine was stopped when it hit.  The PITTS muffler has a few dents in it though, but the choke and throttle move smoothly still.  Going to need a new fiber arm for the throttle, it snapped off.

So this one works? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXYND5

Same here - I've "planted" my DLE 20 a couple of times and it came through fine. Pretty strong engines.

If the prop survived and there is no dirt in the carb, just give the prop shaft a gentle turn and note if their is a bearing problem. If not then run it on the test stand and you should be good.

That one would be perfect, but I'm pretty sure you can stay state side and do better regarding the price? Like here:

There is some notchiness when I rotate the shaft. One blade busted off the prop too.  Going to take it apart and see if its a bearing. I also noticed the fuel inlet snapped off the carb.  I am not at all happy with this mess. I took a closer look at the wing, and what a poor design, no wonder it snapped off, there was hardly any glue between the plywood and spars that formed the box.

Not surprised with the state of construction of most ARF's these days, built to a price by people who know nothing about model planes.
As to breaking props, I drove a DLE 30cc into trees when a wing gave way. All from a very good height. Managed to cut the engine before impact and when I found it all the plane was stuck in branches and totalled but the motor was sitting in an open space still attached to the firewall, surrounded by trees, upright, prop still intact and fuel tank still attached. End result motor was fine and I was very glad I could remotely shut the engine off before impact. Yes id did recover all the electrics of which all were fine.

I have two 1800 mAh Nicads in mine and can fly all day (or it seems that way).....in fact I get tired while flying it as I've never run out of gas it must mean I'm getting old - been there - done that The trouble with the Sullivan mount is that you can barely get to the two adjustment screws...which thankfully were pre-set perfectly.

Sorry Ernie, no experience with it. I like the numbers for it and it looks nice! Have you seen the string here on them?

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8922593/mpage_17/key_/tm.htm

When shopping for a 20cc plane recently I did check it out, but the Revolver owners enthusiasm for their planes ("Larger Revolver" in the ARF section) coupled with the price (which has now gone up again) convinced me to try one of those. Glad I did. Very happy with it. That's for me and my flying style though?

I looked at the wreckage and found it to be either an assembly flaw or a design flaw. The spars had now support between the center rib and rib #4.   Going to contact SIg on this.

As far as the motor, is there a way to replace the fuel inlet, or am I stuck having to replace the entire carb?

From what I understand, it's a press fit. It sounds like getting the piece that's in there out is the hard part. From there you just push in a piece of brass tubing that's the right size. Maybe with a spot of JB Weld on it?

OK, I'll check it out when I get the engine cleaned up and disassembled. I am going to have to open it up to find out what is causing the notchiness. Its the only way I can describe it, it no longer rotates smoothly, but at a certain point I feel resistance a couple times, like a clicking that you cant hear.  The engine was mounted inverted, and struck the ground on one blade of the prop, head first.  I may have a bent crank, bad needle bearing, bent rod, who knows, it is so slight that I would need to mount the engine in a fixture, and use a dial gauge to detect it.

I am getting steamed up over this too, this was clearly not something I did, otherwise I would just move on as a dont do that stupid move again, but since this was caused by a defect, and something I had no control over, I am getting ticked that the engine got damaged.  I can deal with a stripped servo, but the engine damage has me steamed.

Pull the rear cover off and see if the crank pin isn't rubbing on it? If so, not a big deal. Just reset the bearings to give you the clearance you're after. Don't forget the crank is used to pulling forward on the crankcase, not used to getting that prop shoved into it's face....

Check Goose's ProX260 Build Thread. He broke that nipple off also and shows his fix for that.

So how aerobatic is the large Revolver? I know the Pulse's, at least my 40 size one, did all basic aerobatics, just not 3D. For some reason I was thinking the Revolver was more of a speed plane ..... ? I will check that link, thanks loads.

Is that the one under 3D?

Here you go acdii. It's a great thread with lots of info. That really ticked him off when he was all ready to fire it up and broke that fuel inlet nipple off.

Thanks, I shot a PM to Goose and he shot back a reply.

BTW I pulled on the prop while turning it and it feels like the friction I was feeling goes away, so looks like it may just be the bearing. I will know more when I open it up.  I also found the rest of the plane today along with the ignition module. Going to see if I can open it up and reconnect the spark cable to it. Other than that everything else is still attached.

Guys, do you think a 14x9 MAS prop will be good for DLE 20? I will use it in a Seagull Super Tucano!

I would think so if you're looking for speed! Are you running any kind of a tuned pipe the help out with that? See if it will pull a 15x10 once you get it hauling.

Guijs - 14x9 is underpropped for this engine. If you want speed try a 15x10 or 14x12.

Folks, I forgot to mention that is a 3 blade MAS 14x9 prop! Still underprop? I am calculating with this http://personal.osi.hu/fuzesisz/strc_eng/index.htm

9000 RPM, Air temp 77 and CF 1.

I will use JTEC Pitts muffler.

Thanks for the help in advance.

3 blade will be killer man!   I have a 15x9x3 mas that I have yet to try out. If my motor has survived I may give it a whirl just for kicks.
