I'm working on designing a wing for a giant scale airplane... the toal wing span will be right around 90". Now my question is, what would be the strongest and lightest way to build this? Foam core? Balsa ribs? It will be a 2 piece wing, with each half being just about 40". I've seen a couple ways to do this, but I was just wondering if there was one way that had advantages over the other... thanks!

Generally, built up will end up lighter than foam.
To keep your's light, I'd design a box spar with the D frame in front of it. Then, balsa for the ribs and you pretty much get the idea.
