There toys so even if 4wd it will suck on the rocks. Most people just mod a body to fit a SCX10.

They won't be able to do what the other crawlers can do. Also they aren't upgradeable..

i know but its like 2-300 dollars and since i live outside of US thts like 1k-3k and thts pretty expensive, i figured tht it will be cheaper to build it because ill be able to get the material like aluminium and stuff for the chassis itself and then the electronics online. What will i need?

So far i know i need:

ESC
Suspension
Motor(55-65t)
Body
Servo
Rims and Tires
front and rear differentials

What else will i need? also where can i get the front and rear differentials?

What are you looking to spend on a crawler?

I went to youtube and searched videos of these New Bright crawlers, with a few mods they are actually impressive. They'd never make it in competition, but for scale crawlers some guys have done some really good mods and they actually work quite well. Do the search on youtube and judge for yourself.

Check out the Redcat RS-10. You can find them on ebay and from retailers for $159 shipped. It's very capable out of the box with some minor adjusting. The first things to upgrade will be servos then tires. But that's about it. The esc has a 5v/5a bec, the stock motors are decent and the rest of the chassis is capable.

You can find a thread on them here on RCU and a very informative section for them on RCCrawler.

this was about as much flex as it had

The two in the middle pix are defiantly 2 wheel drive. I have them I bought them for the bodies for 1/10th scalers.

Get the RS10 as someone said. I have one and they are nice out of the box but I've had mine awhile so it's hopped up alot.

I ran it stock accept for tires and servo's (only real upgrades you will need servos) for about 6 months. after learning how to drive it and seeing the potential I sank some money into it.

if you go with the rs10 159.00 shipped. You will get the following.
A complete crawler including battery tx/rx
all you will need to do is charge the battery and put the batteries in the TX and you are climbing.

If you order it as soon as you pay for it get some servo's
I got towerPro MG995's they have held up ever since I stripped the 1st factory ones out.

I also put rover white dots on it. ran it that way for about 6 months.

Now it has bent lower links
holmes hobies 440 pullers

There are a million mods for this thing but I really don't feel it needs them.

Later
Rich
