Well it's all done just have to wait for some goop glue to dry and then screw her all back together then i can test it!!
Not that bad at all to put together good instructions with it.
Here is some more photos of it complete.....PS Creeping death says you can bolt down the canister gas chambers but i just put 4 little dabs of goop glue on the corners to hold it in place.

Also there is no need for me to test the laser for acuracy as in the instructions it states it's set in the tank lose so you can fine tune it for what type ammo you are using and for what range so the acuracy would be up to you setting it up the way you need it to be.
Enjoy!

Hi guy's ran into some problems it's a very tight fit!
I needed to relocate the speaker and slide the gas chambers all the way back and also relocate the reciever board because when the turret turned the gass nipple line hit it and ripped the wires off.
So everythings in place i am waiting for some goop glue to dry and later tonight i should have her together and hopefully do some video testing tomorrow for you guy's.
here is what it looks like now.

OK did some testing some good some not so good...Maybe creeping Death can answer some things here...

First off i actually recorded video of the glow tracer unit in the dark it looks cool as hell and looks to shoot hard(will have to chrony it)
But for some reason and myabe CD will answer here about this... The unit does not load bbs to good i could not even get a good consistant shooting to record anything to good.
For some reason i have to keep tapping the barrel and sometimes this makes it load and shoot corectly But i am thinking it may be due to the crossman glow BB's are cheap and most likely larger OD than a standard persicion ground good quality BB? will test more with other good quality BB's i have.

Another problem is as seen in this photo there is some port on the turret and i hear gas leaking from this sometimes and one time gas actually kept spraying from this port (see liquid around area in photo) Again mybe CD can help with a answer here.

the recoil is sticky feeling not smooth this may just be my unit but it feels like somethings binding a bit.
O and one other thing some how a BB got out of the turret and into the bottom Hull of the tank?

well that's all for now

back down the filling cycle to 9 seconds and refill to six seconds. make sure when you shoot to hold the up button until recoil unit extends all the way back. if there is liquid coming out of the vent its a good sign of an overfill. the sticking recoil effect is a good sign that there may be an overfuill condition.

Hi i understand about holding the left stick farward for full cycle.
I guess i won't fill it up to much Kind of like with airsoft magaziens they say it's not best to fill them all the way up to there limits.
It shoots like a mother though ....I am going to try the better quality BB's i think they may load better than the crossman BB's because they probably are a hair smaller.

Will tinker with it some more.

Latest update internals of turret photo.
& I think i found why it was not loading the BB's properly ... See photos the guns nipple that holds it secure for up and down movement was broken off this may have happened in shipping...so i CA glued it on and put a thick bead of goop glue around it to hold it in place... Now i hope that something inside did not cause the nipple to break off from something binding as there is alot of stuff inside and it could get held up on something and cock the gun and cass this part to fail.

As you can see these units look to be a custom made deal they don't look like 100% drop in units alot looks like it goes into making one of these and i don't know how CD does it and that's where i can say creeping Death did a great job going all out and trying to make these guns it looks to me like it takes a long time to compleate one that's for sure!

Me thinks CD would be better off supplying parts and a good set of instructions and let modelers do this themselves. Because of what it is, I foresee a lot discussion about these. These do not look like a something that is "bulletproof" once installed.

I mean no disrespect to CD over this. They are really trying, but the nature of this gun is something that is going to be a reliability issue for them.

So if you are buying one of these, have your eyes wide open, and understand that you yourself are probably going to have to tweak these constantly. Otherwise this forum is going tobe full of CD gun threads.

Disclaimer.

I have never held one or seen one of these, but do a lot of " project engineering" myself. I am basing my opinion on the pictures supplied and my own experiences with stuff I have prototyped in my shop.

Consumers are a demanding lot.

I already gave him some info and tips to help him improve and make things work better....remember these are the first batches being made i am sure there will be improvements along the way.

Shenlonco,
Doing a great job with the review. You were so excited when it arrived I was wondering how objective this review would be but as I said, you are doing a fine job. It can be hard to put excitement on hold.

I also mean no disrespect to CD as I know they are trying but the inside of that turret looks like a nightmare and I am surprised as they knew this was to be a 'golden unit' that was going under critical review. I think they should sell the sub assemblies for us to customize and install ourselves as I am convinced I could do a much better job. Those fittings look unnecessarily huge and the band clamps from the auto store are about the worst thing to use in these types of installations and the glue potting around them is something that would tend to get a person fired from a serious shop. This may sound harsh but these are kinda 101 level things for this type of work. The metal bracket on the inside that should have a 90 degree bend in it looks like it was bent by hand with pliers or something. Come on, at least use a vice if you don't have a proper brake. Can't tell what the gun itself is made out of but it seems to be either a highly modified HL unit or made up of JB weld or something funky.

I guess this is why I was fixated on seeing inside the turret and I'm glad I did. Unless your report shows that they are getting the 440 fps they are claiming and can reliably put 50 rounds down range as they have claimed then I am going to steer clear on this one for sure. It just looks Rube Goldberg and the design/implementation/assembly quality looks to be something that even HL wouldn't of put out back in the Pantiger days.

They can claim earth changing revolutions, deep patent portfolio, aspirations to make turrets for every model offered but maybe they should take a step back, engineer a reliable QUALITY system for one tank and take it from there. For now, my own humble, non earth changing unpatented, open source guns put these to shame. Granted mine don't have a recoil but then again, sounds like yours may not for long either.

Thanks again for the review Shen, your doing an honest job and appear to be no biased fanboy
Perry

Well now after the fix i did she now shoots like a charm!!
I have to do a video test now for all to see.

Hi Perry i agree with some of the fittings and stuff But i contacted CD and we went back and fourth on lots of stuff I gave him some great input and the systems should improve.
The black casing is made from a mold of 2 part plastic...I also gave him a better place to get better 2 part plastic from.

These units are hand put together and look like they are very time consuming so I give CD 2 thumbs up for even being able to make such a thing.

O Perry that brass bent thing in the turret top is not a tube it's a elbo that is made like that from the manufacture if that's the part you are saying he could have ben't better.

I suspect he's talking about the metal "bracket" that comes off the front of the firing assembly and is screwed(?) to the back side of the mantlet.

Those hose clamps are far too big for that hose. You should never have that much excess hanging off...it is extremely likely that when using hose clamps that are too large they will leak. The screw on that type of hose clamp is on a rigid base that doesn't bend. All the flex/clamping isn't happening in a circle, more an oval on that application (this is one reason you see car fires!). I only have much experience with GM auto products, but any vacuum lines that size that they used on vehicles (at least awhile back) had a spring steel clamp that was far more compact than that pictured. This was even on fuel, so it wasn't something they took lightly. Very rarely were actual hose clamps used by the manufacturer.

If I was going to make the trunnion (what broke on yours apparently, what the gun pivots on) on that setup without a ton of modification to the basic design, I might cast a small boss on the "gun" where the trunnions are now, then put a long screw through the trunnion into the gun so that the trunnion still rotates freely, with the screw loosely holding the trunnion to the gun, which should take almost all pressure off the gun/plastic, and be infinitely easier/stronger to cast.

Just my input, from someone that enjoys tinkering with things.

Edit: This is what I am talking about regarding spring steel clamps that might be a better choice in that application:

HI dyeager535 I don't know if those rings would work better as i know from real cars these are cheaper and do not work as good as the screw clamp type ...reason why they use them now on new cars is because they are cheaper and much faster to put on to secure a hose but for the big horspower motor head guy's who soup up there cars these clamps are garbage and always never used.

Lost my post. You'll find far more complex/expensive clamps than screw type on vehicles, it's not a cost deal.

GM used screw type hose clamps up to 13PSI. Anything higher was an o-ring fitting.

Regardless of beliefs of clamps, something more compact would give more working space, and give a cleaner appearance.

Actually I was talking about using crimp clamps designed specifically for this purpose. They are designed for high pressure pneumatic systems with soft tubing over hose barbs. They require a special crimping tool ($20) that collapses the tang. I have used these for high pressure hydrogen systems that could have no discernible leakage.

Anyway, back to the CD thread. Maybe they will decide to take some of these suggestions.

well tried to do some Chrono testing for video but like ever since i first got this thing nothing but a big pain in the A$$ it stopped working again after about 3 shots with the .12bbs my chrono showed 300FPS. and 290FPS
i ripped my tank apart again for the hundreth time and broke 2 road wheels so now i midas well throw my Tiger I in the trash! WHAT A WAST OF MY GOOD TANK!

I am pissed don't Creeping death test or do RD on these things I can clearly see that the gun holder that it pivits on is no good and also something causes it to pop out of track and even break I been tinkering with this for 2 days!! now my tanks broke and usless!!! Untile CD sends a unit that works I am honest to my fellow tankers and i just can't recomend it at all to anyone.
Sorry CD great Idea just needs some refindment to basment like put together and not proven.

Now i am out a tiger and wasted 2 days going nuts with this thing!!! as of now i would rather stick with my slightly moded electric guns that will shoot a .12bb at near 200FPS speed all day long rounds by the thousands with no problems!
Here is my broken HL Tiger I guess this happens when you rip it apart so many times in 2 days!!
