OK EGuys. Will the GWS Hog's motors handle an 8 cell nimh pack?

Second question. What are they talking about on pg. 11? inlet rings and sanding the nacelles? I don't have one....YET! but a friend is asking me to post for him.

(From one extreme to the other!)

I don't have that particular model but I've used the fans that it has in it on an 8cell without difficulty.

the inlet things are the little things that are inside the nacelle in the back. one on either side of the duct. just cut them off to make the inside smooth. as for eight cells, it does fine but i hear that they will wear out a lot quicker.

The inlet ring is built into the nacelle. This is test data. If you run the fan out of the box (not in the nacelle) you will get that preformance. An inlet ring smooth airflow to the fan and increases it's efficancy.

A10FLYR,

I have made several other posts about my experiences with my A10 - including mods I have made. I tried to increase my 7 cell, 720 NiMh to 8 cells and fried one of my motors. I have spoken to others who are using 8 cells, and even 10 cells and are not having problems. I decided to go back to 7 cells and it works fine.

One other mod - change the stock 3 blade impeller to the 5-blade - the plane flies with more authority. I have thought of making other mods to get it to fly faster but have realized that the plane was designed as a "park flyer" and is not really sturdy enough to warrant much more speed without adding much weight. The plane is a blast to fly with these mods and really turns heads.
