I have purchased a Hitec RCD3800 receiver to use with a older JR Century VII transmitter. What position on the receiver should the ailerons be on?

Also, would like to use this receiver with a New Futaba T6XA transmitter, since the receiver is shift selective. Please explain each position on the receiver -- I am confused -- can't seem to find ailerons with this transmitter, either! A numbered list would be extremely helpful! Thanks

Vaughan the Tx is what designates the port assignments on the Rx despite the Rx brand. So the ports will be the same as your JR or Futaba. JR's transmitter port assignments are different than Hitec's. Or you could just keep plugging the ailerons into each port untill you find it.

I have a servo plugged into every port -- with the Futaba, I have no ailerons, and with the JR I have no throttle. What is wrong?

I don't do Futaba or JR but don't you have a JR receiver and a Futaba receiver and you can check which channel each uses for ailerons. The 3800 will use those same channels dependent upon which transmitter. Sounds like throttle and aileron depending on which TX. Perhaps the receiver is faulty on that 1 channel?(channel 1)? Was it new, used???

Futaba....... Aileron, elevator, throttle, rudder. This is also Hitec.
JR................Throttle, aileron,elevator,rudder, I think....

With servos plugged into every port, this is what I have with the JR transmitter: 1. Battery Futaba: 1. Battery
2. Ailerons 2. Elevator
3. Elevator 3. Throttle
4. Rudder 4. Rudder
5. Retracts 5. Retracts
6. Flaps (Aux. 1) 6. Flaps
7. Flaps (Aux. 2) 7. No response
NO THROTTLE NO AILERONS
This is a NEW Hitec receiver -- has never been installed in anything. Am I missing a step or something?

OOPS! My reply didn't hold the spacing --- The first group of channels are with a JR transmitter, and the second group is with the Futaba transmitter. Sorry about that!

The battery does not go in 1. That is channel one just as I mentioned in my post and it will be ailerons for the Futaba and throttle for JR.

Put your #$%^& battery into 7 or 8 (an empty channel, but not any of the first 4.
Yes, you are missing something, but we'll fill it in. Don't worry!

You don't have servos plugged in every port. You have the battery plugged in the wrong spot.

To put it another way. In my previous post I said "Perhaps the receiver is faulty on that 1 channel?(channel 1)? " Of course there's a fault with channel one because you have the battery plugged in there instead of a servo for ailerons or throttle.

Confucious is claimed to have said " A man who asks a question remains a fool for five minutes, but a man who never asks a question remains a fool forever". I seem to have lasted much longer than five minutes!!!! but I got my dumb question answered by someone who knew!!! Thank you very much! That was the problem all along. I just had never run into that situation before. Again, thanks!
