Of course, this would mean that you would have to do without anything hanging out......lol

Status: online 		Thats a tough one one to solve having to fit an engine inside of 216mm/8.5".
Even a Saito FG 57 is 9" across.
Going electric you can move the Lipos all the way forward for balast. You will want to use a 10 cell set up minimum. You can also use a Solo Prop now that they offer FW profile blades. You can dial in the peak amp load this way.

Another option might be the OS boxer 4 cylinder its a 300 size engine so its close to whats needed perhaps. It would sound nice as well.

Status: online 		I see, thats a tight fit! Once the plug caps are on here you can fit a playing card between the cap and cowl!

It might be better to start building planes around engines just so you know what fits! Then its good luck finding he other things like cockpits and pilots and retracts etc.

Status: offline 		I am installing a G62 in my 1/5th TA 152. It has very little exposed. Just the plag cap mainly. Mounted inverted it is a good option I believe. I am also installing a can muffler that will be inside the fuse, and have the 90 degree manifold that lays the carb on the side of the engine. Very tight profile.

Status: offline 		Erans, well it was very difficult to get Any communication with Moki in Hungary, even though I think the Moki is good quality. ALso the cooling was going to be more complicated. The rear cilynder going behind the cowl, does not have a good exit for the hot air.
The flat engine XYZ, fits completely inside the cowl, so I would like to see how it performes, doing research at the moment. The last resort would be the DLE 55RA

Is the shortest stroke 55cc with the rear carb/exhaust. It will stick out a little bit though.

wings and retratcs have a nice fit. WIng fits the fuse. A few small revisions to the plans and next will be to fliteskin the wings.

Status: online 		Get the DLE 55RA at least to test fly the plane and so people can see it doesnt need a special engine. Its very compact but a little will stick out. I thought about painting mine with hi temp black paint to help hide it.

Status: offline 		Yes Chris, the 55RA is a serious candidate now, still waiting for Hangar 9 to send me 3 view dimensions......

The webbing of the wing is very tedious and back breaking chore, because they are 20 ribs per side and double webbing to the 13th rib, so I drew them all for lasercut and be part of the wood kit, I'm sure builders would really appreciate that

Status: offline 		Christmas is almost here, it's about time I finish these wings!@
I sheeted both tops of the wings in about 2 evenings and next week will do the bottoms.

I'm using Gorilla glue that gives me about 20 minutes to work, while I position the skins and pin the LE of the wing.
Steps:
1. Position the skin over the wing, pin in 2 or 3 locations on the spar and draw the edges with a sharpie. I overlap the L.E. 1/4 inch or so. Also I mark with dash lines the location of the ribs, spars and stringers.

2. I cut the skins to match, turn upside down over the building board and sand with coarse 100 grit, where the ribs and spars will make contact. Specially the LE and TE.
3. Provided the ribs and spars are all sanded straight, I start applying small bids of Gorilla glue over ribs, spars and at last LE and TE. It's easy to put too much, this stuff really expands, so I make sure I make thin layers.
4. Now I can place the skin over the structure using the 2 pins or thum tucks as guide, (you only really need 2) I put a sheet of wax paper on top of the sheeted wing.
5. Next I place all the magazines and soft cover books along the wing in making sure the skin is contacting the structure. The good thing about polyurethane glue is that when it expands, will fill small imperfections and joints.
6. Then I start pining the L. E. of the wing at 3 or 4 points and filling in until there is no more room between them. I use a whole jar!
7. To make sure the trailing edge dries straight, I clamp a ruler or sanding tee along the edge.

The wings are coming out very nice and the stab and elevators are half way done. The Hitec wing servos for the ailerons have arrived too and they fit is perfect. Looking nice
