I still think the entire wing center section (belly pan and inner gear doors) would be awesome to mold into the fuselage as well. It would eliminate a couple of extra molds and parts, and with a wing tube through the fuselage, it would make assembly super easy.


I am just curious.  Wouldn't the line between the wing panels be very noticeable as compared to the wing sitting against the saddle?


If done right, it would be no larger or noticeable than a panel line.


That is beyond my skill set.    But, it would never hold me back from trying.  The only kind of straight wing that I can build is a foam one.




haha... this is one of those things where body filler and sanding becomes your best friend..lol

Status: offline 		Also, I have been mistaken on the designation of the version I will be modeling. The version I am doing is a prototype model FW 190V-30/U1. It did have the designation TA 152 H-O on one of the 3 views, but this is the proper designation for this specific plane.

Status: offline 		The wing fairing and the belly pan turned out to be a real head scratcher and a pain. I spent countless days building and re-building the belly area until a smooth transition was achived. The whole panel under the wing will have to be molded in fiberglass in order to save many hours of sanding and shaping by the builder (usually with uncertain results)
Now that the structure under the wing is framed, will be sheeted,

After weeks of fiddling with the wing fairings and saddle, it's finally done.
Also the belly pan is finished with extensive use of fliteskin.
Now will add more surface detail to the plug like the hatches. etc.
The advantage of molding this fuse in fiberglass, is that the builder can easily save 6 months of work-.,
The cowl is also cut in foam and glasses and sheeted in fliteskin with cowl flaps in semi open position.
More to come during next week,

Status: offline 		After a break for shop relocation, the plugs are being detailed and getting ready to be sent to Vic the master mold maker. The panel lines have to be re-done so they are not so easily lost after a few coats of primer.
The goal is to ave this Ta152 protoype flying in 2012.

I started a new job and it has consumed all my energy, and then had some damage work to do on my flyable aeroplanes. I am going to get back to it very soon. Maybe this message is the bit of motivation I needed to get going again

One of the problems I have at the moment is arranging in my head the order of tasks I need to do to complete the wings so I maximise my available time. I need to do as much work as possible while the wing halves separated as I will find it very difficult working in my small space once I join them.

Leaving my Me-109, how far realistically you think you are from completing the Ta-152? Which accessories you think you will be able to provide with it (spinner, instrument panel, fibreglass parts etc.)? These parts saved (and will save) a lot of time on the Me-109.
