experimenting.

Still at the Fleet. Laying down the last of the color coats and readying on applying stencils. I have a new heater in the garage that will burn me out. Of course, no doping with that on.

I'm working with the lads at rcuniverse. This morning I got 59 unsolicited updates from links I've never been to. Sad to loose all the photos of 2 years work.

All stems from having two names in the pot or something like that. A year ago , some virus or the like got my computer and, after the fix, I couldn't get into rcunivers under E-Gap so I created another.

Dag...

Well, problem never resolved so I killed off Fleet and now I'm registered as "Kinner".

Looking back at 2 years of documention with pictures and seeing all the pix gone, I see no reason to continue this thread.

Rest assured the 1/3 Fleet is still being built with a hope for January completion so as to make the Deland meet in Feb.

Still, lots of yellow and some updates on the Fleet Brotherhood site will be in order.

As of this writing , I'm not feeling  I've succeeded as I'm getting the same stuff again.  Looks like the only cure is to establish a new Email address and I'll just leave RCU for greener pastures.  Too bad.

K.

I thought about running it concurrently with "Fleet Brotherhood" but that may jam up a perfectly good thread too.

Thanks for the kind words.

Welp, the big Fleet is on the hush while I get the 1/4 scaler back in the air.

The engine was gone through by BJs  Engine Service and I was embarrised by the rusty main bearings.   Nice and clean with new rings , et.al.  and nicely fit where it had been installed some 15 years ago.

Recommendation by BJenson on twin carb engines is to install a seperate clunk in the tank.  A bit of fiddling and cutting and JoiLa...   a leaking set of plumbing.   I filled it up with some old fuel to check for leakage .   Took a bit but it started to trace out so some silicon or sumpin is in order.

I also found an old unused McDaniel twin onbd glow and sent it off to Sonic Tronics the new owner of the same.   Told them to make it nearer the newer model that I can use a 6vdc 2000MH battery.

Then, it is sign on to the old club if the'd still have me and fly on.

Work still continues  on both Fleets but at a reduced occassion.   Last Thanks Giving Black Friday took on a new meaning to me.

Took family out for a movie and dinner and came back to a house full of water.   Seems a water line under a sink blew loose and all got dumped into the carpets and almost new bamboo floor.

In a nut shell, my house is a mess, contractor and insurance working but my house is a mess and I have to move some stuff around when ever they decide to make repairs.

But... on the fleet news, the 1/3 scale is all painted up completely with a few decals to apply.   1/4 scaler is coming together.

I included a picture of something just to keep the thread alive.  Greasing the rocker boxes is a frequent norm on the Kinner as there are no oil feed lines to them.   They young lad on the Corsair wing is yours truly about 30 or more years ago.
