Burley

Still looking for some good 411 and photos on hooking up the Jeti ESC. Manual is worthless ...and this thing is not the normal Castle setup. I know your mafia has done some big electrics...anyone have some detailed photos of the setup and wiring?

Doing some planning. When do you estimate this one will clear your bench?

A little "Pick-up" work to do while I'm waiting for more parts... I forgot to do the right side exhausts. I cut the 1/32" plywood inlay, recessed balsa fuselage sheeting, glued down and filled over with Model Magic filler.

Yes DD...I like the way you think...lets make the Turbo scoop functional in a sense...get some more air across those Lipos wont hurt. Glad to see the package from Dino arrived. Not crazy about that pilot...but he is for another project...Would look much better if they put him in a late war leather jacket...instead of the early 1940's BofB gear or Polish campaign.

Pandi... I need you to decide on how to secure the Battery hatch. I'm going to hinge one side of the hatch. If we use rare earth magnets we will need to use a tape "pull tab" like we did on your LA-7 hatch. If we use a latch, I guess we need one or two of those Uncle Bob's latch catch thingys?

I got after the turbo inlet... Roughed everything up with 150 grit before gluing down the resin intake lip. Applied some MicroLite and sanded everything flush, ready for primer.

Obberkommando der Luftwaffe paid a sight visit today. Pictures don't do this project justice. The craftsmanship in person has to be seen. A lot still needs to be done to get this operational. I would like to think it can be RTF before Christmas...I doubt any sooner.

This one will be maiden flight at the dry lake bed "rabbit" our trusty spot for big bird test flights. It's a few months off but will be well documented.

I decided to put the hinge on the left side. I'm going to use magnets to secure the hatch and make that little snorkel thingy that goes on the right side of the hatch so you have something to pull the hatch open with.

That's really cool. I would give serious thought to installing a small EDF motor to cool your Lipos. Not that you really need it, but it would be really neat and it could look just like the real thing (if you removed the scoop from a real FW, the fan is built right into the side wall of the airplane).

Installed a hardwood block in the bottom of the rudder to accept the removable hinge pin wire and strap. The other end goes into an embedded nyrod in the top of the rudder.

Here is the final blend of the Fuse/Fin joint before glassing. Whew! Sanding dissimilar materials is a bear. Once Glassed I be able to smooth it out a little more.
