I've used PC fans from radio shack anywhere from 2-3.5 inches. Can even run them off a separate ESC. May work.

Yeah, I've experimented with PC fans too, but they've never actually flown in any of my planes (or cooling EDFs, for that matter). As an alternate approach: you don't even need an ESC... you can run them with direct current from a seperate battery pack (Small LiPo, NiMH, NiCD, even Duracells) with an on/off switch inside the battery hatch. Or getting more fancy: a remote toggle switch tied to a channel on your TX. I get a little nervous about adding extra circuits to my flight LiPos, but that's probably just because I don't know jack about electricity!

Should be interesting!

Thanks... We needed the rudder to be removable to get to the tail wheel retract mounting bolts through a small hole in the fin post. Now that I think about it... It will also be very handy to maintain the rudder pull-pull cables and rudder horn if something breaks or wears out.

Feeling real good about this battery hatch now that all the magnets are installed and everything sanded flush. No way this thing is coming off.

As far as I'm concerned... The Electron conversion is now complete.

Looks good DD super clean. What are you going to make the little snorkel thing for the hatch out of?

Thinking this thing could clear your bench soon?

I'm going to hand carve the snorkel that will be used for opening the hatch from hard wood like pine or something.

Turbo Charger... Here we go!!

Made a card board template for the outer blending lines. After locating the scoop, I put a 2" diameter hole in side of fuse for a future battery cooling fan and epoxied the fiberglass turbo scoop down.
