hi everyone im new here. can you help me figure out whats wrong with my car?? i have a tamiya cosworth from about 96/97 and haven't used it much in recent years. i've recently become interested in it again but found that it is very hard to control if at all, its very very twitchy. i look at the servo that controlls the speed controller and it is twitching like mad (steering too) i'm no expert so i havn't got a clue when i try to use it , it goes where you want it to for about 3 seconds then it will just go full throttle without me doing anything and go straight into a wall . whats the most likely fault with it? or is it just knackered. any help appreciated

its a shame, cossies are pretty nice. Are you using a msc or an esc? does seem like a battery problem, though you could try new servos if you have them.
Im probably wrong about this, you can ignore me if you want.

Most probably is battery problem like sean said. Try with new batteries and see.
Also check that the antenna cable from the receiver is not cut or something.
Also take out the connections on the receiver and plug them in again. Do this about 5 times. There may by dirt on them so you have a bad connection.
Check the cables all around to iss if they look ok. There may be a worn cable that touch a metal part.

if your using an MSC...that could be remotely it. If you want to you can try an ESC, they are much more reliable and work more efficient. I dont think i'd be the battery, i've done that with my older car, hek the battery i used 2 years ago i still use in my race car to this day as an extra battery that works perfectly and hey its a radioshack battery!! lol Another possibility could be that your equipment needs to be ran a couple of times before it gets used to running agian? anyways those are just possibilities, check them out if you want....cheers
