That low end screw you mentioned is an air-bleed, not a needle.

I seldom saw a heli with 4 stroke engine. It is natural that the engine stops when rich since explosion interval is too long. To make it alive rich, I recommend to put a flywheel heavy enough to provide inertia.

You've got to open the airbleed some to lean it. You've got it set as rich as it can be on the low end, which explains why it's dying on you.
