Hi!

I'm new to the RC hobby but I'm really fascinated by how it works.

I just want something to run around when I have time. I dont know much about batteries chargers or the specs(volts or amps etc).

Is there a model thats better than radio shack but not something that will destroy my house if I try to run it indoors?

Bye!

I would reccomend 1/24 electrics. Like Kyosho mini-z. They are a lot of fun, quite fast an ideal for indoors (not really meant to be played outdoors)
On the other hand if you want something bigger, I dont think that you will find anything that would be fast enough to be fun but at the same time slow enough to play n a house.

What price range are you looking at?

Well not quite sure.. Prolly get it as a gift from my brother.

I would like to get something electric cuz my brother has a gas buggy and its waay too much of a hassle to do all that.
On top of everything it spits an icky mess all over the place.

I want something thats 1/10. Ok I take back my comment on running inside the house. Probably something on the road mainly.

raod? Tamiya TL01 or a RTR TC3 are your best bets. if you want to run in grass also look at the RTR T3 or RTR B4.

If you just want something fun to drive around then anything electric is a good bet.
Tamia tourers are cheap and pretty easy to maintain, the associated TC3 is probably stronger.
Any Offroad style buggy or truck will be ok, I think a truck will be more fun than anything as you can use it in more palces, if you go for a tourer you will be limited to fairly flat tarmac.

if your thinking about racing then go down to your local club and see what they run there.

I have a TL-01 and they are great i don't go to the track or anything and we just race on our local basketball courts when tehy are empty. the tamiya TL-01 is very cheap comes with everything if u get teh XB series and has all kinda of bodies like teh RSX, F-150, Skyline, Celica, Supra, and many others.

but if u can spend a little extra try going with teh TB-01 or an RS4 Rally. u can go in the dirt and have some fun where as the TL-01 u can do it but u have to clean it alittle more later.

Are you talking onroad or offroad? Losi's XX4 or XXX4 4WD (graphite if possible) is a good offroad choice for the beginner and is fairly durable (nothing broke on my XX4 yet). The stadium trucks can take a bit more of a beating and are fun. I'm not too keen with onroad cars so I couldn't say much about those.
