Amen! I already issued a "challenge" to a pal to see if he would consider building one electric. Mine will be glow no doubt.

nice model

_Tommy D -> RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet (8/27/2010 8:39 PM)

My "only" grip is the covering/color scheme. Would have liked a Red/White Blue T-Birds scheme. Can't have everything right?

H9 claims so decent speed as well. 130 flat and level on the little 60NX with the Jett style muffler. I KNOW many in here can do better then that. [;)]

My final thought is this will be a perfect test bed for the electric retracts. I fly off grass so you bet they will get a workout!

airraptor -> RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet (8/27/2010 11:00 PM)

in the video it doesnt look like 130. i find it hard to believe that speed 8lbs and less than 500 sq " I am think of what engine would get it to 130+ on the level. i know a large DF engine would be to much for the airframe, 60 LX would be close but still doubt it. a modded tower 75 is stronger than the 90LX so might go that route i could try a 90LX fire and then re work it some to get the rpm needed.

bob27s -> RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet (9/1/2010 8:28 PM)

"retracts optional"
I think NOT !!!!!!

I have to have one of these .... nice to see an "airplane" for a change rather than something 3D

:)

summerwind -> RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet (9/1/2010 10:27 PM)

ahhh, a Jett 56LX spinning a 9x8 at 18,400 (too start[:D]) will be the order..............i see a fast combo here

hope the wing isn't held on with rubber bands[;)]

jettlag -> RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet (9/1/2010 10:47 PM)

[8D] I look, but all I can see is the pretty blue.

Great picture. I might say "wrong engine", but that E-60 just loves that color.

airraptor -> RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet (9/2/2010 12:05 AM)

summer i think the 9x8 would be to much for that airplane with that engine. i run the 60LX on a fast 155+ airframe with the 9x8 and it takes almost a full lap for it to unload some. yes its still strong running but once it unloads it really shines. i would suggest a 9.5x7 APC or Bolly for that airframe and engine. specially at 8lbs.

actually the 56 is a torque busting machine.
have it on a Sundowner, and started with the 9x7 for a bit to give the engine some time....then put the 9x8 on it, and the the friggin thing now has a whistle[:D].........the engine is begging for a 9x9.
i thought that the 9x8 would not unload quickly either, but like Bob told me, the 56 long rod has more torque than the 60......he was right.

or are you saying the 56 is too much power for this plane?

airraptor -> RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet (9/2/2010 6:21 AM)

no not to much power what i am saying is the amount of unload available by the engine isnt being used with that prop. i still think the amount of drag on that plane and the induced drag wat that weight the 9x8 may not be the best choice.

cmircman -> RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet (9/2/2010 6:46 AM)

I could be wrong but at 7.5 to 8.25 pounds I dont see this going too fast. I may just have to get one though.

vasek -> RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet (9/2/2010 10:47 AM)

Nice plane! looks very stable in the air. I like the retro look (kinda BVM Viper Jet)[:)]

daven -> RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet (9/2/2010 8:36 PM)

Dub,

How bout some fancy metallic green mufflers for new sport jett .40's?

vasek -> RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet (9/2/2010 10:43 PM)

I foud the pic in my old PC... the schemes look similar, don't ya think?[X(][:D]

_Tommy D -> RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet (9/2/2010 11:48 PM)

I changed the thread title to reflect the models name.

About the only thing I don't like is the scheme. That said it's not going to prevent me from buying it.

Tommy D

summerwind -> RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet (9/3/2010 3:41 AM)

i think the scheme will grow on ya once it goes whizzzin by[:D]

i've pre-ordered mine..............[8D]

BiggerDanno -> RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet (9/3/2010 6:12 AM)

That tail looks kinda draggy. Same for the fake inlets.
Otherwise, looks pretty good!

Crazy4Flight -> RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet (9/4/2010 1:01 AM)

Airframe pre order $280.00
evo 60 $150.00
muffler ( by Jett) $60.00
retracts $
have trouble finding HAN501 or HAN502 but two retract servos needed for mechanical

I guess I build my patroit kit
