In my opinion, we need a much higher level of integrity on the AMA EC and that eliminates Cain and Frank. There are other personality issues that can be talked about, but there is no need to go any further of the subject as the most important thing of all is trust. We cannot trust either of these guys to do the honorable thing.

If that is not a slam I don't know what is but yet it goes unchecked. Some mods we have here! They just plain suck! O well I guess this will just be deleted too... Just like other posts that counters the bias here.

I2DDD-
Chill out before you bust an important blood vessel, man. Guys vying for an elected office slam each other - does that come as news to you? Read what you wrote. Does the moderator really deserve the slam you gave him? Or was that not a slam and I'm just confused by your highbrow rhetoric?
Jim and Horrace are both good guys and I have no doubt they would be at a minimum civil, and more than likely quite friendly face to face. Horrace, if you haven't noticed has a 60-grit public persona, superficially at least, which has kept and will keep him from getting elected to AMA office regardless of the merits of his platform. Certainly doesn't mean that people don't like and respect him, and appreciate the contributions he makes to our hobby. I do, and I'm pretty certain Jim does too, though I wouldn't presume to speak for him. And I doubt that Horrace is anywhere near as offended by Jim's remark as you appear to be.

I swear I know the style of that "pinball" guy. Wasn't he one of the ones we all laughed out of the ng??? I will value his opinions here as much as I did there (not to be taken as a personal attack, just a personal notation)

And I2DDD, first complains about the lack of moderator input, them insults them with words like "sucks", and THEN declares admiration for HC's genatalia.... WHEW ! ! ! !

What IS this place???? Who ARE these guys?? Why should I value this type of talk from folks who completely hide behind a keyboard??? Why would I support people THEY support?? With allies like that, I'll support someone else.

Sorry, if you ain't got the guts to take responsibility for your words, I ain't got the stomach to swallow them.

It is obvious you have some sort of problems with anyone but Horrace Cain. That is your choice but I do not understand why you are blasting the moderators. That is not a good way to make friends and influence enemies. I hope the moderators do not take action against you.

Just for the record. I PMed you and the moderators last time you attacked me asking that they NOT remove your post. I told you the same. I guess I could make copies of the PM's, but, you know it is the truth. As far as I am concerned you are entitled to your opinion as is anyone else that disagrees with me.

I read this forum every time I log into RCU and count it as a great learning experience. Perhaps the greatest lesson learned so far is not to run for office!

Marc wanted this forum to have a little less moderation then the rest due to the nature of the subjects under debate. When people cross over the line at WOT we step in and bring things back in line. The basic rules are still enforced. The purpose of moderators in this forum is to keep things from getting out of hand.

J_R,

I don't recall getting a PM from you regarding a past post. Regardless, a personal attack is a bad precedent that I don't want set in any forum. I would not interfere with anybody disagreeing with another, but there are limits.

I hope the moderator's did not ask 12ddd to modify his post. He is entitled to his opinion. As you know, I have always pushed for a very loose policy in the AMA discussion forum.

I asked Marc to look at the thread, hoping he would post an answer. It was not meant to ask that a moderator chastise 12ddd

At least where I am concerend, let anyone have their say about me.

It wasn't you that got it. I guess my only feeling is some youngster should be able to look at a post and not be too shocked by the language.

Elwood has been censoring my posts far to often and now does not even let me know that he intends too or offer me a chance to edit posts myself. HE is the one that I have the biggest problem with. There are many other examples of language the he could just as well deem inappropriate in these forums but yet if I counter his narrow minded views he sees fit to delete my posts.

Elwood you are a poor excuse for a mod.

But back to the subject...Do not vote Jim since I feel he will take AMA FURTHER in the wrong direction. Take time to read some of the garbage posted by Jim and see for yourself!

Good grief,

For a minute there, I thought I had stumbled onto rc.models.rc.air.

I am puzzled why people from Kalifronia and Massachusetts have such a great interest in District 8. You guys seem to think that we're all a bunch of hicks down here; so why do you care?

Anyway, JR makes an excellent point; will Mr. Braunam display the same vitriol on the EC that he has done in the past on the above board? Having been involved in a couple of urination competitions with him several years ago, I find JR's characterization of him (Jim Braunam) as "tenacious" to be the understatement of the week.

I used to watch, with great amusement, the continuing "AMA wars", starring Mr. Cain, Mr. Braunam, a fellow named Kevin Kline, and many others on that UseNet board. What it all boils down to is a "mine is bigger than yours" slam-fest by a bunch of alledgely grown men who should know better, and obviously have far too much free time on their hands. Whoever I decide to vote for, it won't be any of the above.

I know Mike Moss. Not well, but in 25 years as a state trooper, dealing with every sort of personality type you can imagine, I have developed an ability to "size up" folks that is usually close to the mark. Mike Moss is a good guy. He is a GENUINE guy, as opposed to some who do not want you to know their true thoughts.

Someone made a deal about how his writing skills aren't up to par with what should be displayed by an administrator. Good heavens, have you perused any of Dr. Frank's contorted posts? The man is a lettered physician; but you'd never know it by reading what he writes on the net. Still, if he has the cojones to get out of his chair and attempt to choke someone who is pissing him off, he can't be all bad, eh?

You guys have fun picking this issue apart. Again, I have to wonder WHY non-District 8 folks are so interested; but everybody has to have something to do, I suppose.

Hey, mongo: what is your read on this? I await your Texas wisdom with bated breath...

Steve

It's really quite simple. The VP's motions before the EC have the same impact on ALL AMA members, regardless of what district they are in.

If something really idiotic like the ability of a VP to suspend membership that was proposed, printing the District Reports in MA in color or poorly thought out combat restrictions we all pay.

You have no interest in what people like Dianne Feinstien, Henry Waxman, Maxine Waters, Charles Shulmer, Robert Wexler, Barney Frank or Ted Kenedy put before Congress? If not, kiss your trusty Remington 1100 good bye along with that 1911A1 that you treasure so much.

You might be hicks, buy you sure conned the rest of the country in taking a couple of your more prominent Governors off your hands.

Jim, I have watched your posts over the years, agree with some and not others, but that is what makes us unique individuals.
I have no personal problems with SF, but I think he wants to be Pres.
All of his columns in MA are about what is happening with SW Conference or Muncie.
The Pres. or someone else usually reports this, I want to know what is happening in my District!!!!!!!!!

So I have one question.
Are you going to represent me and my district or Muncie?

Thanks for your time.
