spikkkkk i have that plane partialy built, very very nice kit, you really cant go wrong with a proctor product!! i have also built the eindecker and albatross. there is so much detail items included its just unreal. and the guys at proctor are very helpful if you run into something you dont understand. thier services are second to none. i sure wish other suppliers were more like that. i think you will enjoy building that plane. just take your time and study the plans very carefully all the info is there but sometimes you have to look around to find the section you need. with the albatross i was constantly opening other plan sheets as i went through the build to find details not on the plan that i was building from.

eagledancer, right now i'm working on a AZM 1/12 neuport 27. i really got beat on this kit half the parts are missing, nothing fits, alot of the parts are 1/8, no hardware and the list goes on and on but decided to build and fabricate every thing myself dispite jamie j. its going to have working cable controls, cockpit controls, every thing is going to work (MQ) i can make it happen and at 1/12. when i get it done i'll post pics. i dont think ive ever seen a 1/12 museum quality kit. have you? AZM claims to sell them buts its a total fabrication and i'll never do buisness there again. thanks for the info on the procter kit and i know what you mean joe and the crew down there are real stand up people who happen to love what they do.

I'm not sure what size a 1/12 scale Nieuport's wheels would be but a Czech company called Maketova Kola makes some outstanding small spoked wheels. I had a pair in my hands once and stupidly put them back thinking that I probably wouldn't build anything in that size.

Hello,
I've ordered a 1:3 " Flyboys " DR I from Arizona.
Ordered this at November last year and also have paid it.

I live in Germany and so it take a while to liver the kit, but so long?
When I send a mail - I only hear there's a problem here, there's a
problem there and there's a problem with custom.

I think I'll wait two weeks and than want my money back.

Does anyone get some DR I kit from "Flyboys"?

i feel for you, i got ripped off by azm and so didn't many, many, others. hopefully you paid with a credit card so you can dispute it, if not you probably will never see your money. jamie johnston at arizona models is no more than a griffter, con-artist what ever you want to call it. ive read of many people sending money and never recieving a thing and people like myself you recieve a product with half the parts missing, very bad laser cutting etc., i could go on fo pages just read the threads. my kit was so bad i salvaged a couple of things and threw the rest away (in the trash). 100's of people have been hurt by this man.you will get nowhere with phone calls , he will say anything just to keep you at bay. if he wants money so bad why does he use this website, he might as well put a gun to your head there would be more honor in that, at least you know where you stand. the best of luck with your problem and like most of us who dealt with AZM. cut your losses and go someplace like Proctor , GTM or balsa U.S.A.

GTM has a great 1/4 and 1/3 scale Dr..1 kits. I built the prototype plane for the 1/3 kit. Great flying plane. Glenn has already sent some kits to Europe.

I would demand a refund immediately and go with GTM. It is too bad AZM is so terrible as their offerings look so good. I have been fortunate to never purchase anything from them.

I was ripped off too.....I bought the Hansa Brandenburg kit from AZM about a year ago. The kit was ordered in mid December and I had to pay up-front for it. Delivery was estimated for mid January. After a lot of broken promises and excuses the kit finally arrived in mid-March.....four months for delivery and a lot of agony on my part. Arizona obviously do not inventory this kit....it seems that each one is assembled for each order from secondary suppliers, so if the suppliers are late.....your kit is late. The so-called “documentation package” supplied with the kit is incorrect and not satisfactory for scale competition at any level. The plans are accurate, but little more than an outline. Believe it or not such important information as dihedral and c/g is not mentioned anywhere. No engine installation suggestions at all. Length of wheel struts and cabane struts are not mentioned and it must be calculated from the isometrics. No dimensions of materials are shown on the plans and the stock of wood supplied does not match the plan requirements.....I was short of wood in many cases and have huge bundles of other wood that will not be used. For example, there was six tail skids in the kit and four foot pedal assemblies. There was no bill of materials at all. Other stuff was missing altogether...... some of the instrument kits were duplicated in 1/3 scale and in 1/4 scale and materials to build them was incomplete.....most of the instruments were not for the Hansa. The seat supplied was for a Sopwith. Only four brass landing gear attachments were included, the plan calls for eight. The dummy engine, gun and instrument kits were very crude, to get them to look near like they should a LOT of work is required. They are nowhere near the quality and accuracy of the Williams kits. The kit is not at all what I expected for a $1500.00 kit. To make matters worse, Jamie at Arizona Models does not answer e-mail so don’t expect any customer support.

Here is some of the wood that was left over after the plane was completely built.....

Reading this thread is depressing. I ordered a 1/3 scale Albatros DIII in January and I have only received the wheels, engine kit, cockpit kit and a set of plans, (which I already had from Model Airplane News). After waiting 5 months and paying $1000 dollars I only have a partial kit. No wood, no spinner, no fittings, and no lithoplate covering. If I ever get the rest, never again.

I don't feel so bad now. I have been waiting for 5 months for my 1/8 Spandau kits, but I only have $40 invested.

I received an email from a friend in England today. Seems it's business as usual.......

Just to update you, Reg, that I no further ahead with AZM and Mr Johnson than when I received your email in January! He has now gone to ground after saying he sent me a refund check in early May. Of course, I have received no check and plenty of excuses and he has only bothered to inform me of what has been going on when I have prompted him. It is a thorough scandal and I feel silly that both Don and I fell for a marvellous website without going into the company's reputation. Given that he will not reply to email, I am at a loss how to proceed now.

It is interesting that there have been a couple of ads in the modelling press here trying to sell kits that people have received from him. I expect the bottom line in this is that they have opened the box and inspected the contents and realised that they are a load of rubbish. I was amazed at what Don received as an Avro D quarter-scale kit, given that the aeroplane has an open structure fuselage and that all the wing ribs are identical. I could have drawn up
