Fantastic stuff Ralle!

Wax is a nightmare for filling all the rivets. Ive spent literally days cleaning out rivets of wax Clearcoat is basically just a paint less the pigment so no reason for it to fill all the details especially when someone as skilled as Ralle is doing it.

look forward to the finished product

Hi Guys,

we have tried to make the molds without clear coat and the plugs have beed "sticking". We guess the epoxy primer react with the wax....so I have applied a very thin clear coat. mixed with 300% of thinner. that very thin coat do not fill all the rivets, guessing it´s 3-5 micrometer thick. yes, better would be without clear coat but it´s safe...

wax and PVA do work, but it´s tricky too....

yes, we have to use a scrubber to polish all the wax....I hope the mold builder will do that!!!!!

... Ive spent literally days cleaning out rivets of wax ..

cant remember where i read that you could heat up wax to melt it out=remove it...
and the way to control it from going on fire is a steam gun...since water turns to steam on 100c you never reach the fire point of the wax...

...anyway i know a friend who knows a guy whos wife is a friend with a guys wife who heard a guy saying that ....Ralle is going to seperate the plug from the molds tonight...all the best my friend

Hi,

I´m sorry for that late reply. Have been very busy last weeks. the mold is made. I´m not really satiefied. we have placed some air bubbles in the middles of the screws. the original plug is undamaged. maybe I have to made a new better mold in the future..I will upload some images soon.

I have to make some small parts like Canopy frame and rudder for vert. stab...
