with their small size you pretty much can't tell any difference with the use of flaps or not.

I have noticed very little, if any trim changes with flaps applied on my JL f-15

I put 1/8" on elevator (up on the trailing edge of elevator stab) for take-off flap setting, and 1/4 on landing setting. (up)

The C.G. on the plan is too nose heavy. If you have problem banking and turn the plane at low speed, then most likely you are too nose heavy. Move the C.G. back by about 1/2 to 1" you will have a more maneuverable plane. Just by doing so, I save about 1/4 more fuel per flight, and land a lot slower.

Let me check on the C.G and get back to you on that. With the flap/elevator mix correctly, you can set up a good AOA for landing without a lot of elevator input.

Just to comfirm bluescoobydoo, I'm flying a SM F15 and my set up is identical to Mikes. I also realised that the C of G had to go aft. It does make a world of difference!

My C.G. now is set at 6-1/4" back from the leading edge at wing root, gear down, UAT full. I use 0% expo on elevator for low speed handling, 30% on low rate setting for high speed passes. Ailerons at 30% expo at all time. I put steering on Aux 4, and mix it with rudder, so I can use dial to trim the steering on my 12X.

My CG with full UAT and retracts down is set right at 7, maybe 7-1/8". It flys very good like this. Is not touchy at all. I did notice that my trim for normal flight on elevator is different than that of my flap mode. So, my elevator would be just about what yours is Mike.

Correction: My C.G. is at 6.75" right now, not 6.25" I plan to move it further back to about 7.5" and try it out. I use 2 A123 batteries in the front to replace the aging Nickel Metal Hydride batteries, and they are lighter so I am assuming the C.G. should be further back.

Mine is @ 6.5" back from the leading edge root, gear down header full. looking at what you guys are flying I have room for moving back again. although she does fly belly up with very little down elevator.

If you remove that big, long antenna, then you won't need to apply any down elevator.
