Do I have a dfective BEC/ESC? I am new to electric and would like to know if the BEC and/or ESC is bad.

- I'm not getting any repsonse from my receiver, no servos moving, EDF motor not spinning.
- I did get a response when I hooked a standard receiver batter to the rx, and tested the servos... that worked fine.
- I hooked up a voltmeter to the BEC plug/leads and I'm not getting any voltage whatsoever from the BEC (yes the battery was connected to the ESC.

Shouldn't I be getting the stepped down voltage from the ESC at the BEC when I connect the batter to the ESC? That should be an easy way to test it right?

Yes, you should have 5 volts on the throttle plug to the receiver. That is what is supposed to power the receiver and servos. If there is no switch on your ESC, the BEC circuit is probably bad in this case.

Measure the BEC voltage between the middle wire (usually red) and the ground wire (usually black or brown) in the 3-wire plug that goes to the receiver. It should measure 5-6V. That's DC of course.
