Please Read Entire Post!

I have been flying planes for over 5yrs and dealt with many places but they take the cake.

I recently received my f-117 edf from them as a present for my dad. I did all my preflight checks and everything seemed ok so up i went. About 5 mins into the flight the right aileron stops responding and i am unable to keep control of the aircraft and it comes crashing down hard cracking the right wing almost all the way through. It does not have rudders so steering is almost impossoble once an aileron goes.

I try to get hold of them by phone which didnt work you have a better chance of seeing god while ur still alive. I finally got someone on the chat named Brad he was nice i explained my situation and he said to email my problem with pictures attached so i did.

Today i chatted with someone named Daphne to followup on the email she said they do not cover crash damage there is nothing she can do for me. Meanwhile there warranty http://www.bananahobby.com/support.html states that if an item brakes from normal use you have 30 days to request an RMA. She told me that a servo doesnt just fail and if it did id have enough time to land without crashing. kinda hard to land with one wing working. wouldnt have crashed if part didnt fail.

All i wanted was a new body and wings i would get my own servos and reuse the other parts but they wouldnt even do that.

I have the whole conversation and a pic attached which i believe you should read, please do not give these people the pleasure of your business, because once you get your product your on your own

How could you possibly know that the right aileron quit working in flight? Many times after a crash when you check your control surfaces, a servo will be broken and an aileron or elevator or rudder will not respond giving you the false illusion that the faulty servo caused the crash. When in actuality the crashed caused the damage to the servo. It could've been a low battery, bad plug-in connection, radio interference, or just a case of visual disorientation, after all the F117 is a tricky plane to keep oriented with and fly in the best of conditions. Crashing is part of this hobby and you cant expect the retailers to give out new planes after every crash, there are just too many unknowns when it comes to crashes. All you can do is your preflight checks and if everything looks ok then you take your chances and go fly. Suck it up, learn from it, and use the experience to become a better builder and flyer, dont blame the store that sold you the kit.

That looks like an easy repair though, could have been a lot worse.

Crash damage is a tough one.

Already they have the defense: crashing into the ground is not normal use.

Was it the receiver? The aileron servo? A low-speed stall? A high-speed stall? It is very difficult to determine the cause of a crash.

Note that the "real" F-117 can only be flown by computer because it is impossibly unstable.

I believe you when you say your servo failed, I bought a f-15 for myself and had no problems than i bought one for my frend and every time he gets ready to fly one elevater sorvo fails, so he has to wiggle it to get it to work. so far it hasen't failed in flight. but you never know. but it didn't come from banana hobby. something about those little micros,  i don't have much faith.

do a RCU-wide search on Banana Hobby, or go to RCGroups and search. They are pretty much scum.
