Giant-Scale Sopwith Camel
Selling a 1/4-scale Sopwith Camel that was built by Gerry Yarrish. Model is in great condition and I've owned it for the past few years having only flown it about two dozen times. Great flight characteristics, great workmanship as you can see from the photos.
The only changes I made were fabrication of a removeable battery tray so I could charge batteries external to the aircraft and I added a receiver switch mount internal to the airplane, installed a pilot, changed the fuel tank and updated the plumbing, and added a Zenoah kill switch.
Engine is a Zenoah G-38, servos are JR digitals throughout. I am using two Spektrum LiFe batteries to power the receiver (receiver not included).
Model is unique and definitely gets attention at the flying field as you don't see Camels that often. Model is lovely to fly and is powered just right with the G-38 (magneto). Will hand-start without the need for a starter. Fantasy scheme with Stits fabric and paint. Simply add your receiver and go fly!
Take a look at the photos (I have a bunch of high-resolution photos that I can provide) and reach out with any questions at: [email protected]
In short, love the model, but need to make room. I simply have too many aircraft and like many, have many projects that I intend to get to. Pickup only near the Boston, MA, area. Will consider driving an hour or so outside of the city, though.
Best,
John
