Unresponsive seller?

Hi guys,

I'm looking for some guidance here as I don't want to go against Buy and Sell rules and guidelines. Can someone tell me how much time is considered a "reasonable" amount of time before I can withdraw an offer from an item because the seller is unresponsive? I've never encountered this situation before. The offer made was the full asking price of the seller. I have tried to contact him but no response yet. The seller has been on the site since the offer was made. As a buyer I understand my obligation to an offer that I made but with not getting any response I am handcuffed from buying a similar item from other RCU members. The offer was made 2 days ago.

thanks in advance for your help

It is completely up to you. You can withdraw the offer any time. One thing you can check out is the response time to questions and offers comparing it to the 2 days.

Thanks. I kind of got the impression that it was up to me but I guess my main concern is the part where it says if you withdraw an offer its listed in your Member Profile for other potential sellers to see. Sounds like a buyer is put at a disadvantage there.

Withdrawing an offer will not show anything on your account. The note you see is in regards to withdrawing "bids" which are what are posted to auction ads. RCU stopped offering or supporting auction ads several years ago. That notice is a hold over from that time which we will update as soon as possible.

One week is a good rule of thumb unless you have received an email or phone call from them indicating otherwise.

If you are concerned with the other member, perhaps it would be beneficial to you both if you try calling them using the phone number listed on the invoice you created and sent to them.
