--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brank New "Skins" are here. This kit comes with everything you need to add a hard plastic skin to your lipo pack. It is clear plastic and paintable. The picture shows what is possible if you paint the skin and what it looks like in standard clear form. This universal kit it can be used on our 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, and 8000 packs in both 7.4V and 11.1V

To completely surround the pack, 2 skins would be required. However in most vehicles the bottom and wire end of the pack are already covered.

Looks pretty good and reasonable too. Will the skin have to be cut down obviously for a shorter (height) pack?
Hopefully they will not add to much to the dimensions of a tight fitting pack. What is the wall thickness?

Thanks.

Overall they will add only a 1mm or so and yest they can be trimmed to fit and heat shrunk on if you choose that option on a new pack.

In my opinion the packs we buy from you, especially the higher dollar packs should automatically come with the skins, and not as on "option" with an additional charge. Call me silly but I just spent $300 on a charger and pack on your site and feel the skin should have been included. very nice looking skins by the way.

The reason they're not standard is that they are only needed if required for racing. Li-Po's are better off in their normal form which is the standard PVC shrink wrap. That's why it's an option.

I thought the purpose was to protect the pack from punctures/damage. Why are they better off in their normal form?
