Jason, what is the Data Port used for? I was looking in the Manual and didn't see anything to explain it.

Thanks for any help.

It will be up dateable by computer download in the future. The EOS0610i DUO will be getting the first updates it sounds like there are some minor issues that will be fixxed and then possibly some ne things aded to it.

Question on 0606i
I just got a hyperion eos 0606i ac/dc
I am charging a e-sky 2 cell lipo 7.4 volts 10c discharge rate 800 mha
The hyperion is set to lipo, c=800mha
When I press to charge the unit say balance con connected
and then a few seconds later says no batterry.
I tried also on dc current on a battery and the same result occurred.
I check for continuity between the hx adapater and the wire to plug to the transmitter and tere seem to be no problem there either
I tried 2 new batteries (never used) as well as the current used and all have the same result.
I am able to charge the batteries withthe cheap charger that came with the heli
what am i doing wrong? please if you can help me I would apreciate it.

I answered your post over at RC Groups as well but it appears your making the number one mistake that most new Hyperion Users do. You need to plug in the main battery leads as well at the balance taps. We supply a charge lead with all the Hyperion chargers well sell. That lead plugs into the chargers out put jacks and into your battery main leads. In your case with the smaller e-sky batteries you'll need a JST connector for the leads.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Jason

Default RE: HYPERION EOS 0606i AC/DC

Hi all,

I recently purchased a MLST2 and a Dynamite 1900mAH 7.4V LiPo battery for it. I have a Hyperion Hyperion EOS 0606i AC/DC coming on order. The charging(balancing?) plug on the Dynamite battery only has 2 wires going to a JST connector. The main discharge connector is of course, a Losi mini connector. I ordered JST adapter for the Hyperion charger thinking that would be all I needed, but looking at everything I'm seeing online is making me have doubts. I've read the instructions for both the charger and the battery and i'm still confused. The battery instructions don't mention balancing at all whereas the charger instructions highly recommend balancing with every charge. Is the "Charge Protection Circuitry" mentioned in the battery instructions some kind of internal balancer? Aren't all balancers a 3 wire deal with 7.4V LiPo? Ok, sorry, my main question is this:will I be able to charge this battery with the Hyperion? I'm just hoping I dont have to order anything else because it takes forever for stuff to get here.

p.s. I posted this question in the Batteries & Chargers section before I found this thread. Sorry for the double post.

Do you have a link to the battery? Sounds like you bought a transmitter pack possibly. There are some makes that have a built in balance protection circut.

yeah I found the info on it. As I said I would contact them for a clearer explination on how to charge there packs. it sounds as if it is an internal balance circut of some type.

just got off the phone with horizon tech support. they said just to go ahead and charge it through the jst lead and not to worry about balancing due to the charge protection circuitry. will the hyperion still charge my battery during a "balancer conn. not connected" situation? thanks again for your time and effort..

It should charge it without the balancer connected.

Jason,
I am having the same issues as a previous post. On the same charger, I am trying to charge e-flite pack. 2100mAh 3S. When I set the parameters to that, I plug the pack to the JXT connector and press enter. It says Connector is connected, but battery is not. I have tried several working packs to no avail. I assume the banana plugs do not have to be in, and just the JXT box.

Thanks,
Chris

If you read in my previous post. You'll see that the main battery plug and the balance tap both need to be hooked to the charger in order to charge the pack.

Jason,

I think i read you right. So, connect the balancer JXT to balance leads on LiPo, and the main pack back to the charger. A loop , if you will.

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks much.

What connectors do you recommend for the main connectors? Deans, the e-flite connectors? just curious.

I use mainly Deans on my planes, heli's and cars up to 1/10th scale. My 1/8th scale cars and my Baja 5B conversion all use 6 mm bullets.
