Default RE: Diesel ??

I asked Gaspar about using Diesel. His words were, don't expect the
same power as with Jet-A.

Default RE: Diesel ??

I am not worried about performance.

I am looking for convenience of fuel and cost of fuel. $0.90 cents per litre difference. 20 Litres a session adds up. (40 litres burnt in one day record for me)

I have not noticed any performance degradation of my kingtech 140f and it shows more thrust than my jetcat rx140 on kero or jet a1.

So I just am inquiring to know some standard settings for my Merlin 160.

I have been running diesel in my Merlin 160 for a year and a half. I just got it back from Dreamworks after having to have the bearings replaced. There was a residue built up throughout the turbine that was caused by the diesel. I have switched back to Kerosene

aeroshell 500

number27 , I did not have to change any ECU settings. It ran great.................till the rear bearing failed. I tried to post pictures of the damage caused by the diesel but have been unable to get them to load.

Dear buddies,

Let's see if we can upgrade this thread..
I will start running my Merlin 140 and would like to consider using diesel since in Brasil it is cheaper and easier to buy.
Since in Brasil we have a large use of diesel in trucks and big buses our local authority has introduced in past years very strong standards.
The result is a very clean and good diesel.
Basically we have two types, the regular one with 500PPM of sulfur and special one with only 10PPM of sulfur.
What can you tell me about diesel sold in your countries?
Regards,
Mucio
