Merlin 140 problems
I have bought a second hand Merlin 140.
Using the data terminal, in the 'info' section the 'Test Turbine' and 'Test Glow' do nothing (all other test functions work).
More importantly when I try to start the turbine the data terminal says 'burner on' and then about 5seconds later 'glow bad' is displayed.
When connecting a battery directly to the power cable for the glow and starter motor they both work.
Is a setting wrong or is the output on ECU that controls the glow and starter (its the same multiplex connector) bad?
Thanks for ANY ideas, I'm tearing my hair out.

As already commented by email, from your description, the problem is the ecu or the connectors/leads. A short-circuit on the lead from the ecu to engine will easy damage the ecu output.
Please DO NOT connect again the battery direct, you will blow the internal glow plug or the starter motor, if not already done.
