Estes new line-up.. Speculations?
Shall we start discussing Estes new line up for thier 50th anniversery?
I know we were all promiced good things, and were told to "hold tight"..
But I also know some are a little wary, as their forum site went down with no word or warning, a move, a few people were let go, and thier website is still unchanged from last year.. Makes you kinda wonder..
So, do we hope for a Blue Bird Zero re-release? I am!
Or a re-release of the popular V2 (or Canadina Arrow..) Again, I am!
Or the sleek looking Sentinel with the extra long Nosecone.. That one I miss!
Or some other 'sci-fi' kit from the 70's & 80's.. Like, ooh, an Andromeda re-release!!

Mr. Google is your friend http://www.estesrockets.com/
Estes is still around, though Leroy sold the business to Leisure Industries/Cox Hobbies more than 10 years ago.
Some craft stores and hobby shops do carry them...Michael's is one such store, as is Hobby Lobby (the craft store franchise, not the one in TN that we RCers are used to). There are a number of online shops that sell them as well, even Tower Hobbies ( http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...NUFACTURER=EST ).
Have fun -

I guess I'm telling my age when I say that Vern was the Rocket Man when I was flying them

Sorry BLW,
Last years' catalog & Last years web site.
This year was to be a grand year, with many 'surprises' for thier 50th. Rumour is that the new line up is due for march, but expected about april / may..

I flew them as a kid as well, entered contests, etc.. just don't see anyone doing it anyumore.. other than scout troops, etc.. .. my 4th grader told her science teacher since they are discussing rockest and space now... that I flew a couple with her some time ago... so the science teacher asked me to come and shoot some off. Have a bunch ready to go!
Can't believe how much plastic has been incorporated into the designs now, especially the quest rockets. [&o] Motors have cost a bit more too these days.
