Estes Satrun V

Had one of these back in the 70s and just ordered the 2157 kit. The prices of these are going out of site so I figured if I wanted one better get it now. Paid just over $80 shipped for it.

That is not as bad as when they did limited run under the previous owners. Over $100 pop. I don't have my old catalogs in front of me but I am thinking it was 2008 or 2009 for the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11.

After my terrible experience with E Rockets and the lying Randy (have emails to prove it) I found another place to get the Estes Saturn V. It did cost about $5 more but $85 which includes shipping is not bad as many are trying to get $99 to $150 PLUS shipping. Mine arrived yesterday.

Do to a big launch sponsored by SOAR on the 28th and 29th of this month I will not get time to do much with it but I
have it and it is not going any where. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1919978

What is in the box. I wish more things had made in USA. I do not think any of the rockets not made by Estes is USA made please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks

There are a lot of smaller Made in USA rocket manufacturers. Semroc, Flis kits, Custom just to name few. The Apogee plastic fin rocket kit (I forgot it's name) is Made in USA s I sold them the fin can mold for that kit. I used it in the Starlight Minute Man kit.

Thank you and I know just about all the launch-able Saturn's on the market. If I ever get the extra money which in my situation could be never I really want a Apogee 1/70 but more then likely will not happen. The Saturn V is my favorite rocket.
Thanks
Jeff

Dave at Sirus (Spelling?) rockets makes a great Saturn V and Dave at Red Arrow bought out Sherrys hot rockets and has updated the kits and is producing them. True they cost a bit more then Estes's but they also handle H motors.

Yes I know about them and they are great rockets at 6 or 7 times what I paid for my Estes. Yes even at the price I would like to have one but I have to take in consideration my situation what I live on in a month is what most live on in a week two weeks for sure. But I have them all booked marked in my wish list. LOL
Thanks
Jeff

I've had 2 of those, still have one. Was in the Air Force when I had the 1st one, the 3 D cluster exploded, way cool !!! The 2nd I still have, rebuilt it so it now takes the E engine.

Be wary of the Estes E motors. This past year and a half I have watched almost a third of them either cato, blow out the nozzel or burn a hole in the side of the case. After watching over 100 flights with numerous issues I quit selling them at my shop. 2 years ago they worked great but the last year and a half I have no idea what changed.I hope Estes figures out what is happening as I like there motors. Until then I would recommend Aerotech E20 motors.

With the release of both the Little Joe 2 and the Mercury Redstone maybe the Saturn V might be updated and re released.
