    Re: Idea Fly4

Recently purchased an Idea Fly I Fly 4 from HobbyKing.
It is a beautiful machine and it flew great right out of the box.
I then mounted a gyro controlled camera mount and somehow managed, I believe, to screw up the programing.
My quad that once flew fine now does ground loops before the skids even leave the deck.
Obviously a rotorcraft and ground loops is not a good combination.
I have gone thru the setup a dozen times, I have updated the firmware an equal one dozen times, all to no avail.
Does anyone have one of these that can give me all the settings?

    RE: Re: Idea Fly4

    Update:
Somehow the controller was damaged and HobbyKing has filed a warranty claim with I-FLY.
I'm not real hopeful but will take a wait and see.
Should that fail, I like the frame and the motors are good.
The 10 amp ESC's are pretty marginal for a motor that with little load draws 8 amps.
There are several documented ESC failures.
I'll keep the frame and motors and install a Naza and 20 amp controllers.

    RE: Re: Idea Fly4

Mine has a Rabbit controller that came with it. Have had it for almost 2 years (?) and have flown the props off it. Has some issues, but very minor - like one motor was overheating and I replaced it, but otherwise for what it is - a light quad that can lift a Gopro if you are careful, it is a great machine.

Some do not like the RAbbit for whatever reasons. I have two, and I also run two NAZA machines. The Rabbits do not finesse GPS hold and Gohome like the NAZA, but they are also more economical.

Hope yours is back flying soon.

    RE: Re: Idea Fly4

I just bought Naza for mine.
I don't care at this point what IFLY does with my warranty.
    The Naza is going in.
I'm going to try it with the IFLY ESC's but I'm prepared to ****can them too.
