I tried several times to get mine to fly well and just couldn't. I've got this one which is + configured and one that has never been hooked up which is X configured. I'm going back to my Rabbits. They have a sullied reputation as far as the "stolen code" issue goes but aside from that, they have been the easiest to set up and by far the best flying quadcopter controllers I've tried to date and they also support a 2 axis camera gimbal (servo type) without any fuss.
I think witespy might have been a little put off by my assessment of his controllers but they just don't work for me. It's probably something I'm doing but I have a hard time believing that since they state that they fly "out of the box" and I'm using default settings so I doubt that it's something I've done seeing as I've put it on a frame that had an existing Rabbit and it flew like this.

You can still get the Rabbit V1 but they are getting scarce.

They use their own program. It's a lot easier to set up than the MW. Here's a link to the firmware.

I have a Rabbit II coming and it's easier to get but I've also been told that the older rabbits are still the most reliable. I just know they work great. Here's a video of a couple of mine in the air.

You'll love the DX8. I was a bit overwhelmed when I first got mine but after you get the hang of how to do all the settings you can breeze through them. And it does SOOOO many things.

As for the Multiwii, I have moved onto the Naza Lite M. More money but better reputation. I never got my MW to flying well and after dealing with Witespy I probably will never attempt one again. He agreed for me to return one that had never been used and now here I am over a week later waiting for my refund after he received the thing. Good luck.

do you have arming set up on a switch? If you have "arm" checked and not on a switch it will not arm. If you don't have a switch set up for arming, go into the gui and uncheck "arm" and do it manually.

OK i managed to get it to arm and disarm with the dx8. Now when i enable level to a switch it now turns into the arm and disarm. Is that suppose to do that??? and the stick input to arm and disarm doesnt work anymore after that.

You should have arm and disarm on a switch that does only that. I had mine set up to arm and disarm on ch5 (gear) and used the 3 pos switches for gps, auto level and all the rest. But like I said, I took the MW off my quad because it's a P.O.S. and I'm STILL waiting for the refund that Witespy owes me. As far as I'm concerned, he's as crooked as a dog's hind leg. Never again. He takes your money and that's the end of it.

All I know is that I'm done messing with this POS flight controller so I'm not going to be much help. I've basically "eaten" the first one I bought and sent the 2nd one (I had purchased a + one and a X one) back because I had not touched it and here we are 2 weeks later waiting for a refund and witespy won't answer emails and hasn't even responded to the paypal complaint. This is an absolutely horrible way to do business and not one that will likely result in any return business. Take care and good luck. As for me, I'm moving onto something that works and a company that is available for support.

I've decided to use a Naza Lite M on one quad I'm building and for the others to just stay with my "tried and true" rabbit. Easy to program, flies great and does everything the MW does and a few more.

Paypal found in my favor. Anyways, now onto other things. Right now I'm waiting on a bunch of new things, a frame, motors, gimbal. I've already got the Naza and a 4 in 1 esc.
