First quad build, please help me select parts that won't end up as a fireball
I've been around R/C for a while but this is my first time venturing off the surface and into the air. My goal is to build a nice little quadcopter that can eventually fly around with my GoPro. (yes, like everyone else) I've got a little bit of electronics hardware and software in my background and eventually I'd like to experiment with some autopilot routines once I get the flying basics down. I need to build a decent starter vehicle to learn with, and to better understand the basic flight mechanics with.
I've been given a simple Q450 glass/fiber frame that I'd like to start with. Below represent my current build plan, bold indicates items I already own.
Frame
Q450 glass/fiber 280g

Motors
??

Props
??

ESC
HobbyKing blue series or AfroESC, amperage TBD?

Flight Controller
Naze32

Radio/Transmitter
Turnigy 9XR w/ FrSky module

Receiver
D8R-II (V2)

Battery
??

Other
??

I'm sure there's a lot more small piece parts and connectors to buy which I'll figure out along the way, but I'd like to figure out the big pieces so I have a clear plan to work towards. I'll fill in the details and update this thread as I figure these out.
Thanks for looking!

I have these motors: http://www.ebay.de/itm/4x-Emax-MT221...item3cd5fc1aa9
With a 3S Lipo having 5000mAh i can fly over 10 minutes. ESC are 18A HK Supersimple flashed with SimonK.
I also recommend to buy some Nylon spacers and screws in different sizes.
You also need male to male servo leads to connect you receiver with your flight control.
I fly my quad with an APM 2.6 as flight controller
