Just in case you hadn't noticed, the only conversation I've seen going today in the multi-rotor world here on RCU is one in which they're discussing xmtr tests to see just what the REAL range of the various xmtrs available is.

They've got no idea what's going on, and even if they did I doubt that they'd care.

But, that's just my observation.

My opinion stands that modelers will pay the price for what's going on elsewhere and those elsewhere will blithely continue to wreak havoc.

Well, if you get on here and discuss you quad, (drone), your name goes on a list somewhere. And pretty soon some guys in trench coats show up at your house and want to see your drone drivers license. "You don't have the required papers? Then we are taking your drone away and writing you a citation".

Could happen...

LOL

There's a lengthy discussion (sometimes diatribe) in the AMA forum, don't read it before driving or operating heavy machinery.

It's not as drastic as it looks those of us that fly with common sense and register wont have a problem. As you know the gun laws didn't keep the guns out of the criminals hands.

I don't see why things be complicated for quads. Every time I turn around that's all I see.tower hobbies all quads no more helicopter kits, on rcuniverse home page helicopter magazine all quads and drone?? Quads are like training wheels why don't you take them extra blades off and fly like a big boy. I even saw one that looked like a camera with blades on it.

I do not own a Drone ...... I have several Quadcopters and one Hexacopter.

I understand the US Military has Drones ..... maybe registration is for them.

Shame on anyone who refers to their quadcopter or other multi-rotor as a " Drone " !!!!

It doesn't really matter what you call them. If they fly outside, there is no pilot on board, they are controlled from the ground, and they weigh over 1/2 pound they are making us register (not the individual model but the pilot)

What you do personally is up to you but the fine is 27 grand and registration is 5 bux, you do the math
