TUBOPTER
I think this idea is original. If someone has seen something like this before please tell me. I call it "TUBOPTER".
The heart of it is a "counterotating" brushless motor beatifully handcrafted by my friend Félix. It means that there's one prop rotating clockwise and another one rotating counterclockwise in the same rotation axis, and the speed of each one is controlled independently by means of two brushless esc's. When one rotates faster than the other, the torque is umbalanced and the tubopter turns in the Z axis.
Two control fins moved by servos provide the roll and pitch movements.
The brain of the beast is a microcontroller circuit with three piezo-gyros used to stabilize it. The circuit was originally designed for my 4 rotor helicopter (see http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_14..._1/key_/tm.htm) and now it's been adapted to the tubopter with only a few firmware modifications.
I hope you like it.
