Evo 58GX2 cylinder gasket
Hi Pe!!
I have an Evolution 58GX2 for 5 years now (love this engine), last week I discovered that the cylinder gasket had popped out
and I also discovered that there is 2 cylinder gaskets, I never removed the cylinder and I bought the engine new
My question is, do I need to install 2 new gasket or just one???
thanks!!

RE: Evo 58GX2 cylinder gasket
Best to install two gaskets. You can measure the thickness. The early MVVS gaskets were thin. 0.2mm total for premium gas is required. Maybe Horizon installed extra gaskets to cater for lower quality US gas. Use premium (91 PON or better) only.
Before installing, roughen up the metal contact surfaces so the gaskets have something to grip onto. Use a very thin (dab-on dab-off) layer of high temp automotive gasketmaker on all surfaces, let dry before assembly.
