Default MVVS 35cc ICU - L magnetic sensor wire damage?

Ive managed to damage the magnet sensor lead on my MVVS 35cc ICU - L by allowing it come into contact with the hot exhaust (yep, stupid I know). It still works OK but will require repair sooner or later. The wire leads directly into the black box which does not appear to be simple to open, presumably I can repair the wire by cutting out the heat damaged section and rejoining ie soldering, heat shrink, and a little more care!.

Thanks in advance,

Bob V

Yes, just cut out the damaged section and solder new wire in. This will give you a chance to extend the leads if necessary.
