MVVS 2.5D RRV
Hello Pe
I would be grateful if you could answer some questions about this engine:
1. Will the piston and liner set for recent production MVVS 2.5 diesels fit OK in this engine?
2. Is a factory header available?
3. If so, does the usual pipe for the 2.5 engine will fit up to it, with the supplied silicone coupling tube?
Thanks

RE: MVVS 2.5D RRV
I located a piston and liner for a current spec 2.5D. They fit the above engine perfectly.
Porting and timing in the new liner is a little different. I ended up leaving in the old liner. It must not be overly worn as the new piston makes a nice gas seal using it.
The old conrod was unbushed. Both little and big ends were worn. The current spec conrod (supplied fitted to the piston in th enew P&L set) is sturdier, and bronze bushed on the big end.
All fitted up with no issues, except I made a thicker back plate gasket to stop the crank pin binding on the disc valve. Valve clearance is good, no scores on the mating faces.
It's looking good.
