Default Ni-mh batteries in Dynam Xmitter

Hey guys,
Any thoughts on the advisability of using Ni-mh AA batteries in a Dynam 72Mhz transmitter. Using 8 alkaline AA batteries at 1.5 v each pumps out 12 v. But 8 Ni-mh at 1.2 v each only gives 9.6v. Is it safe to fly with Ni-mh batteries in this or any transmitter??? What about the Li-po pack I see advertised for transmitters. Will one of these fit in the Dynam transmitter???

thanks

Yup it works and I've done it.

I see no noticible decrease in range, nor problems doing so.

As long as the voltage stays over 8.4v or so there is no problem.

You should be good for at least a couple of HOURS of continuous "ON" time with the NiMH packs.

Thanks for the reply and clear answer. I was starting to think no one cared.
