RE: Super Chipmunk Cowling
If they are still producing the aircraft, should they not have them?
Any chance someone could make a call, email, or even a fax to the factory to check for sure?
It is a shame........nice aircraft, good quality.........no spare parts.[]
Thanks

To speed things up please do the following.
- Always provide your order number ( usually begins with YSTxxx ).
- Provide a link to the web page showing which product you purchased.
- Include a description of the item you are trying to obtain.
- If possible pictures help.
Please note:
- If a component is not in stock it can take a while to get a replacement from the manufacturer.
- Nitroplanes may at it's discretion pull requested parts from new aircraft for you.
The airplane is still being produced.........there is inventory on your website stating so.
So how about pulling a part for me? ................At your descretion of course.

RE: Super Chipmunk Cowling
Yes sir I have the .40 and it is damaged heavely in 4 places...beyond glassing or epoxing. It was not damaged in shipment ..... my 2 1/2 yr old grandbaby decided to sneek into where we thought he could not get, and "found it" he said, LOL, no damage to the aircraft..........cowling was off.
Thank you for taking time to respond...........

I wonder if you could use the existing broken cowl as a "form" for creating a new one with fiberglass cloth?
Except for the sanding this is easier than it sounds.

RE: Super Chipmunk Cowling
No..........I really do not want to form my own mold and cast a new cowling. If this airplane is no longer available, or no parts can be had for it, then I will get rid of it. I am not into this hobby as a modeler...........I assemble and fly. i do kit build and have currently 15 planes that are kitted, but that is not where I want to be now..........That is why I choose your models, the build quality is good, and I do not have to spend alot of extra time on fixing problems. That is why I was hoping that there was a cowling in stock to replace this one. Either as a replacement part or as one from a bad kit. This is a great flying airplane and I really do not want to part with it.
again............thanks for your help.

You don't have to form and cast a new cowl either.
You can use the existing broken cowl and layer fiberglass over that. Apply epoxy then let dry. Repeat.... and sand until smooth, then paint.

RE: Super Chipmunk Cowling
Good luck Fred420I have been trying to get a cowl and canopy for 5 months, they keep telling me it should be in in about 3 to 4 weeks well it has been 5 months now and the way i do math that is 20 weeks and still no sign of a cowl for my 1.60 AT-6. I have nicked named them with there new slogan OUT OF STOCK.
I will have to agree with you on there planes they are built very nice and very strong but if you look at there site 40/60% of the items they sell is OUT OF STOCK.
I really think they would do much better if they took all that OUT OF STOCK stuff off there site and just make it a one page site.
