RE: New 50cc Extra 330L
Wondering if Mrchristian got the Extra done and flying... I took advantage of the Black Friday event to pick one up. Waiting for it to arrive, I searched around to see what sort of luck other modelers have had with it. Hopefully, we're all talking about the same plane: the yellow/blue/checkerboard Fly Model Extra 330L. I found some images on Fly Model's website, and found an RC Canada video of a young pilot flying his around. Also found a previous owner's thread on another forum; he lost it due to wing tube failure. More details once it shows up.

Okay, an update. The Extra did indeed show up. But it's not exactly what was ordered. I was planning on using the 80" Extra described in the ad as a project for a Moki 1.8. Instead, a GIANT 2.2 meter Extra showed up. It's really nice: decent hardware, removable stabs, nice scale looking cowl, tinted canopy. And it's a monster: 88 inch wingspan, 1401 sq inches of wing area, 17.5 lbs finished weight. After my head settled down, I realized that this one needs to go together with a DLE 55 or similar. So I'll box it up for now (have other project taking up the table) and start acquiring the parts needed to get it together.

Hey Cap'n, the plane I ended up with has the airframe of the red/yellow Extra, but is colored like the picture of the yellow/blue/checkerboard Extra. It doesn't have the silver trim around the canopy, but it does have a nice tinted canopy.
