ZRCGF.COM Henry sent pm that he will have his sight showing the mufflers later on tonight. Do not know if they will all be on the sight he trying to get it all up and running. Takes a little time to keep up with all the new products coming out for these engines.

approx 2 degrees right thrush.. for a bigger horsepower engine, i.e. 62-65cc you might want to make 2.5 degrees..as they can crank up more thrust with bigger
props.

still no mufflers listed on ZRCGF.COM
i didnt get a response from anyone when i filled out the customer service form and submitted it.

i asked the difference between the 62 and 65cc engines other than the side and rear carb and weight difference and bore size.
both have 5.5 hp but one spins a slightly bigger prop?

maybe i would get a faster response on the phone.

will give them a couple more days then i will call.

I've done quite a bit of research on this and it seems like a lot of people are going the A123 Lithium route. Most are running a single 2s 2300ma for the reciever and a single 2s 1100ma on the ignition. Since the voltage for the ignition is 4.8-6.0v you can run 1 or 2 diodes inline to get the voltage where you want. This is how I'm setting up my 50cc Yak 54. I've been running A123 cells in my heli's for the past year and love them. The best part is you don't have to regulate them for your rx/servos and you can quick charge them in less than 15 minutes. Check out the FG site and look for A123 Power systems to gather more information. Theres lots of reading on the subject.

With this setup in 50cc size planes most are reporting 6-8 15minute flights with plenty of reserve.

BTW...I get my A123 cells from Dewalt Lithium packs. Both 1100 and 2300....You can also get the 1100ma cells from Black and Decker VPX series tools. But that line has recently been discontinued. Many Rc'ers cashed in on the low price of these cells when it was announced. I got serveral 2s packs for $7 each.....

here is where I buy all my batteries.. www.hangtimes.com and if you need heavy ones to balance out the tail heavy su-26, go for the 3000 sanyo Nimh with dual hd leads..
if you go for A123, you will need an A123 capable charger.

this is the charger I prefer, DuraTrax Onyx 230 AC/DC
as it does my charging at the field and also at home..Charges 1-8 cell NiCd or NiMH (1.2 - 9.6V) cells and 1-3 cell LiPo,
Li-Ion or LiFe (A123) (3.7 - 11.1V) cells.

I've got two of these, Turnigy Accucel-6:

http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...lancer/Charger

This charger can charge anything I can think of at up to 5 amps. It also has built in balance ports for up to 6s Lipo's, Life's, and Li-Ion's. It only costs $37.99!

If you want a do-all charger, this one is definately a contender. There is a thread at RCG that has over 600 posts about this charger. Lots of people are buying them....

Life is an A123 battery... That turnigy seems like a sweet deal, I have the IMAX B5 and it works great also! cost a little more than the turnigy, gets the job done. I would not go out and buy one of the Exspensive name brand ones just for the name.

Has anyone added more fiberglass to the inside of the cowl? I am thinking of doing this to help add some strenght to the cowl and a liitle weight up front also.

I like the price and specs on the Accucel-6..but alas I don't always like having no AC input..I like to charge at home also.
This means either buying a battery or a powersupply to run that charger..the DuraTrax Onyx 230 AC/DC operates both.

Yeah, I think there is an option to get the A/C adapter I know that the IMAX one does... you buy it separate for like 17.00bucks, there is also one on there for $9.99

I also have 2 Tritons that I have had for years and 2 Astro Flights that only charge A123's. They all need a 12v Power supply. A 15a supply is not all that expensive. A lot of people modify old PC power supplies for their source. With the 15a supply I have, I can literally charge (4) planes/heli's at a time as long as I don't go over 15a. If I want more I get out the Mastech! To be able to charge more than one Model at a time, the Turnigy's are hard to beat. (IMHO!)

One of the best things I like about the A123 route, is when I get home from work and know I'm heading to the field, I plug in whatever I'm taking and they are charged by the time I get my clothes changed!

Propdust, I ordered the same 9150 servos, and they dont center well at all, I have them on the plane, but Im not very happy with them, maybe you get a better batch, just giving you a heads up.

I would go with Hitec 7955s since you can program them, and use them on a bigger bird later on, Im doing a 40% and have done extensive reading, even the 5645s will be perfect for this plane, but with the 7955s you can go bigger in the future and not have to buy servos again. How much are the 8611s?

Hey sgoen
Thats a lot of weight, I would block the firewall and move the motor forward. The distance from the prop to the cowl will only Improve the performance of the motor, forget the distance they tell you. Adding almost 3 pounds to the nose will kill your wing loading. Can you move anything Forward like your batteries? I would do what ever I had to to keep from putting 3 pounds of lead in the nose. A 22+ pound airplane at 28% man thats heavy. I have had problems with planes where I have had to cut a piece of 1/8 ply the with of the engine box and as long as I needed it to exstend up by the front of the motor opposit the head for better air flow, and mounted the weight on the end of the plywood as forward as possable. but after I moved the motor forward.

Dcoy70, the jr8611A 95.00 ea. from chief air craft . What is a progarmable servo? With the cost of the 8611a and 7955 is the 9150 the way to go? And just how much off center is the 9150's is this something that would cause a crash? prop dust 1
