Considering what you are getting, that's a pretty good combo & price for everything.
I've had very good experience with the Exceed Brushless motors... and that ESC.
The TX is practically a freebie...
Remember that if you purchase an EDF that there IS a fan break-in proceedure which must be followed.
Also this is NOT a beginners plane!

She sits VERY low in the rear (kinda like a fat chick ) Would definitely have to be handled by "expert" level!

No I'm not a beginner at all. I flew one of these last weekend and there is no way on earth that plane does anywhere near 80 mph. I would guess 50 on a good day. I've got a stock Stryker that's cheaper and way faster. Anyways, to each his own. It's just not an 80 mph plane like the expert advertised on the Web site says. It also comes with practically no instructions. NOT IMPRESSED.

Reviewers CAN be wrong... especially when they feel like they NEED to overhype a product.
I'm sure that the reviewer erroneously thought that a high efflux speed equates to 80mph flight speed...
50 sounds about right... nothing wrong with that.... just not blisteringly fast...
The instructions are fine, if you had EDF experience... after all what do we need the instructions for, other than the C.G. and maybe throws for some?
Now my Bobcat .25 does 80 MPH EASY...

If?
You mean you didn't receive the sheets?
Re: Break in.
It's commonly available... try searching for "Electric EDF break in".
Quiet Flyer RC had a nice article last month on this, and RC Flyer also had one some time ago.

78MPH no problem on a very slight dive at full throttle. Easily over that with a bit of a tail wind.
I guess the reviewer was spot on.

Why?
The ones with the planes I purchased have worked just great.
Of course I do break in the EDF properly and check everything out, and then check everything out again...
I check battery capacity, put on a watt meter and measure draw, bench time the engine run at 70-90% throttle variance, etc.
