Default F-18 Version 2 bad battery

The battery that came with my F-18 won't take a charge. I keep getting an error and I've tried it on several chargers. Anyone else had this problem. I can't seem to get a response from Nitroplanes.

When I checked it, all four cells were between 3.9 and 4.0. I don't recall the total, but I will check it again and get back to you. Here is my order number:

If all 4 cells registered 3.0V or above then your battery is doing fine. Each lipo cell max voltage should be 4.2V x 4 = 16.8V and this should be your voltage after the battery is fully charged and balanced. Please check your charger.

I've tried it on 3 different chargers. It gets an error every time. I haven't flown the plane yet, but the battery will not fully charge.

Thanks,

JGM

Is that the only response I get? How unfortunate. This was my first purchase from Nitroplanes and if this is the way you guys handle things it will definitely be my last. I'll stick with hobby-lobby.

Actually while the voltage may indicate if the battery may be receiving a charge voltage/current correctly, this may not indicate the state or suitability of a battery to handle the load placed upon it, nor indicate that it is OK.

The best way to test it, is of course with a watt meter.

The voltage test alone is not really an adecuate indication of battery condition.

Sllimg: Which chargers did you try to charge the battery with OTHER than the ones provided with this plane?

I have tried it on a PolyCharge 4 with an Equinox balancer. I have tried charging it without the balancer on the same Polycharge 4. I also tried it on a friend's Triton 2.

Good diagnostic.

PM John again and refer him back to this thread.

There is no doubt that the battery is shot.

I ordered the fusion series battery and it works fine. I have flown the plane several times now and it flies fine.

You can forget the battery. It's been too much of a hassle for a cheap battery pack. It was more about pricinple anyway. I just wanted you guys to make it right.

I do want to voice my disappointment with your customer service. I have been flying for 28 years. Within the last few years I have converted to all electric. I am up to 9 electric planes, so I know how to charge a battery. This was my first EDF from nitroplanes. I understand there are people who make false claims and try to blame unfortunate events on equipment failures. I am not one of those people. You have made this sucha hassle for me. Repeated emails, phone calls, and postings to this site. I fly with a bunch of guys who were anxious to see this plane fly. The plane flies good, but I won't be recommending they buy one from nitroplanes.

Thanks,

JGM

PM him again even if only on principle.

He tends to make things right for you if he is aware there is a problem and given half a chance.
