Well, right now I have 2 Supertigre 61's in mine, but after seeing your video I am thinking about going electric with mine. Was impressed with that section in your videos. Would lessen the possibility of losing an engine, and an airplane. Wonder how it would fly on one engine, or how it would NOT fly on one engine?
Anyway, impressed with your videos, looked quite familiar to me. Hope they fly as good as they look.
Keep up the good work, anxious to see how it flies.

electric might be the ticket if im not in the mood for gas.

can the outer wings be setup to be removed from the center section for transport or do you have to glue them? also do you have to glue the elevators or can they be setup to be removed.

Yeah They Wings Can Setup To Be Removealbe Cause The Tubes Can Be Drilled Into, The Tail Can Be But It Would Take Some Work

Great thread, nice work on the plane, it looks like a smooth flyer. Just wondering: is the vertical fin glued in permanently, or can it be set up to be removable? I'd like to get one and set it up with nitro power.

I have been looking at the Nitro 310 Cessna to build.  Will a 70 4 stroke fit or will there be major refitting?  How about mechanical retracts?  Is there someone who has completed one todate that I can talk with?  Thank you. greenda6243

the NitroPlanes cessna 310 in this thread will require 2x .91 fourstrokes
but the Top Flite cessna 310 will fit 2x .70 to .80 cu in 4-strokes (11.5 - 13.1 cc) but will require extensive modification to the cowls

4 stroke engines are slower and spin bigger propellers but are powerful.
usually they install bigger 4 stroke engines than 2 strokers and i don't exactly know why.
i would recommend the .90 4 stroke. the electric power.60 would be compared to a 2 stroke .60 glow engine

you could probably go with 2x 2 stroke .60-.70 or 2x 4 stroke .90-1.20glow
the 1.20 4 stroke would be overkill but would fly like a rocket.
the .90 4 stroke would be more than addequate.
you could try the .70 4 stroke and it would fit fine. just extend the engine out far enough for the prop shaft to reach out of the cowl.
but i still would think it would fly underpowered with the .70's

The latter is true because your first statement is not true.

4 stroke engines are NOT "more powerful" than an identical displacement two stroke engine.

The four stroke engine is only producing power every other cylinder stroke, while the two stroke engine does it with each.

As a result two strokers not only burn more fuel, but they also produce more power when all things are EQUAL.

Bigger four stroke engines are used to offset the lesser power of the four stroke engine.

This ends up being somewhat more efficient in terms of fuel usage at the expense of some power.

e.g. I have a .91 Four Stroke FS engine on a Skybolt BiPlane, another guy at our field has the same plane with a .75 O.S. engine in it.

He runs a smaller prop than mine, but his blows mine away in terms of performance and speed.

Both planes weight exactly the same.

I get longer flight times.

i recongnize opjose from the knife edge realflight sim swap pages for add on sim plane mods.

so i might be right about my recommendation for the .90 4 stroke instead of the 4 stroke .70's for this plane.

the only way to know is to try them.

You were not incorrect.

However the statement about 4 Stroke power output often misleads people into thinking that 4 strokers are inherently more powerful for a given displacement.

Hi flyboytha1; yesterday I bought one 310 nitro cessna. 10 years later of flying real airplanes y started one year a go to fly those little ones too; its a great hobby but its a little vicious too, now i already have 7 planes & no satisfied yet I wanted a twin. As a pilot I really like scale flying most than any other & there's nothing like have in your hobby's room all the planes you also flew in reality.

I really like the top flite 310 cessna, however 44 of 50 Oz. of wingloading is not a joyable flight, but scary one, cause you are no longer enjoying your airplane, the flight resumes to try hard not to crash your little an expensive toy.. Thats why I bought this one. The math results on 24 or 25 oz. of wing loading and it is not expensive like the top flite's. however I really think that nitro planes have a terrible taste on the color scheme of thise plane thats why i should modify mine when it arrives.

In my short experience I asume that you are using electric motors because of the posibility of loosing an engine in flight. However I have Magnum engines on almost all my planes and they have never let me down, thats why i will take the risk on my new 310. I really prefer 1 hour of flying but hearing a real sound of those glow engines, than 10 years of flying with electric motors.

Anyway man, congrats about your 310, nice job; I will be sending pics of mine soon, first of all I'll do something about de color scheme & see what else we can do to make it a little bit realistic...

regards
