Accipiter Badius
I purchased an Accipiter Badius several weeks ago and still have not been able to fly it for the first time. After charging the battery the first time, I ran the aircraft anchored in my house to get an idea of what kind of flight time to expect. It lasted only a little over 5 minutes varying throttle and surface movements etc.
But now the battery will not recharge at all.
I've attempted e-mail support with no response other than expect a response in 1 or 2 days and a phone number to call. I would much rather get support via email even if I have to wait a day or two. For me, that's preferrable to 20 minutes on the phone.
I can't find the order number, but I assume you can find it using my name / e-mail.

RE: Accipiter Badius
Joe,
I can help you on this. ok I want you to empty out the battery. use it up until there's absolutely no more juice. The charge it for 6 hours. By doing this you are giving the battery a kick start. The average flying time on these batteries are about 6 to 8 minutes. Let me know.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear. The battery is and has been dead since after first use.
It will not charge now, no matter how long I leave it plugged in.

RE: Accipiter Badius
I received my new battery yeaterday (thanks) and charged it overnight. I am in the process of running it completely down now. Will let you know how it does after recharging.

If it is a LiPo battery you must NEVER run them "completely down"" as this will ruin the battery or make it so that the charger will be unable to recharge the battery.
The LiPo chargers need to detect a certain voltage level before they will start a charge cycle.
If the level drops to say 2.0v per cell or less, the charger will NOT charge the battery as the battery is assumed to be ruined.
Bear this in mind if you are using LiPo's and make sure that you have the low voltage cutoff properly set.
Also remember that a 5 minute run time on the ground will probably translate to 8-10 minutes in the air, once the plane is unloaded ( but not at high throttle settings... ).

RE: Accipiter Badius
The new battery did the same thing as the first[:@]. One use, now will not re-charge. Is it possible that the batteries came pre-charged and the problem is in the charger itself? These are Nimh batteries, not LiPo's as far as I know. The first instructions from nitrostaff1 above were to empty them completely, so that's what I did with both.
