Giles-202 tail section help
I'm really stumped as to how this section is assembled. There is a small aluminum pin that apears to require a snap ring, yet that is not idicated in the instructions nor are any supplied. I only mention the snap ring because of the grove around the shaft. As you can see in the second photo, the indent on the stab only goes in about an 1/8", yet the rods will butt together inside the plane and cause the it to stick out about a 1/4" Nothing inside the tail section supports the rods at all, they just hang there sloppy.
Has anybody put this type of section together? I'm really stumped here.
Thanks,
Corey

The tail I did with the same chinglish directions, I drilled the hole in the stab and epoxied the pin in place. The grove is just for glue. It is an alignment pin.
The planes are nice, but the directions leave a lot to be desired.
Dru.

RE: Giles-202 tail section help
Dru,
I finally came to that same conclusion on Sunday. I drilled a very small hole in the stab to see if it was solid there, and of course the result was positive. I just need to get a drill that size now.
Had it simply said in the instructions "drill here" no guessing would have been needed. I've built plenty of kits from Sig and Goldberg, so I think I've been spoiled from great instructions
Thanks for the reply, it confirms what I was thinking about.
