What a shame, Nitro based planes dissapearing...
This is really a sad thing to see, the apparent demise of Nitro Planes. I hadn't visited the site for a while, though I had noticed, and heard from several flying friends that things were getting dismal with Nitro Planes. I presently have four models from Nitro Planes flying in my fleet of 10 or so models, and I like them very much. The price was very reasonable, and the planes are, at least to me, quite well built. Support has been sporadic, and the instructions often leave much to be desired, but they came through for me several times and I can deal with poor instructions as long as the price is right and the quality is good. But now, from looking at the website, it appears as though the company is going down, and they are just selling out stock. This is really too bad, as they were my favorite place to shop!! Oh well, I guess a good thing can't last forever....
Something is wrong Nitro Planes, other suppliers don't seem to have the stocking problems you do.....
Oh well...

I really hope this is not the case, I myself have quite a few nitroplanes models, and I love them also. Hopefully the stock just took a hit with the Christmas season?

If you follow the model availablity at Nitroplanes, you may see a direct correspondence with what the Chinese factories are shipping...
e.g.
CMP Pro only listed a couple of new models last year, all of which Nitroplanes picked up for sale.
The CMP company stopped shipments of their other models.
Other vendors still seem to have a backlog of older unsold product, but are in the same boat so to speak.
I hope these manufacturers get back into production as things improve.

Just trying to be nice. You don't hear this stuff out of Horizon, Tower, Great planes, COMP ARF, and many other's.

The forums are repleat with everyone complaining about unavailable product from each of the "big boys".
The Chinese manufacturing plant shortages affect everyone.

You can not be serious !. Horizon, Tower and all the others are out of stock too. The economy being down here is a huge impact in Asia, and once a manufacture shuts down a line, I am sure it takes 45-60 days, maybe more to restart. Just hold onto your panties and have a gin. But please do not diss NitroPlanes. I have bought 4 planes, gobs of other stuff, and had great delivery service and need I mention the prices are fair.

Yeah. Nitroplanes is making do trying to sell those things that are available...
e.g. the Electric foamies.
I favor balsa ARF's myself ( MUCH easier to repair than foamies ).

Its all about production runs. It takes time to setup and run a product. They may be able to run 4 or 5 products at a time. The manufactures wait to get enough orders to justify change the production lines. plus it takes time to ship to us here in the good ole U.S of A. I can remember waiting almost 6 moths to get an O.S. .32H motor for my helicopter. I had to wait for O.S. to do the next run of that motor.
Dru.
P.S. How many times do you see Tower discontinuing a product then see it for sale 4 to 6 months later.
